U.S. Stocks Fall Under Pressure from Microsoft -- Market Talk

1606 ET - U.S. stocks end mostly lower under pressure from an 10% drop in Microsoft shares as it reports higher-than-expected spending on data centers. Tesla falls 3.5% after canceling two electric-vehicle models and saying it would shift toward robotics, and will invest $2 billion in Elon Musk's xAI. Meta meanwhile climbs 10% after posting record earning and a jump in projected spending for this year. Apple is among the companies set to post earnings after the bell. DJIA rises 55 points, or 0.1%, to 49071, while the S&P 500 loses 0.1% to 6969 and the Nasdaq falls 0.7% to 23685. (patrick.sullivan@wsj.com)
