Abu Dhabi police have arrested 109 individuals for filming incidents linked to the war and sharing misleading information on social-media platforms, authorities said. According to police in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, those arrested shared content that could stir public concern and spread rumors.

The arrests appear to be the largest in an intensifying campaign to crack down on speech, documentation and social-media content in the U.A.E., as Iranian missiles and drones puncture the reputation of safety the emirates spent decades building.
