JERUSALEM-Three weeks into the war with Iran, Tehran is continuing to fire multiple barrages of missiles at Israel every day, sending millions of Israelis running to shelters across the country. Overnight, Iran fired several missiles at central and southern Israel. No casualties were reported.
Tourism has come to a complete standstill. The usually bustling streets of Jerusalem's Old City market are shuttered and empty. Learning remains remote in most schools and universities across the country, and travel through Israel's main international airport is heavily restricted. More than 3,500 people have been evacuated from homes deemed not suitable for living due to damage from attacks, according to Israel's National Public Diplomacy Directorate.
While the total number of missiles fired by Iran at Israel has declined compared with the start of the conflict, according to the Israeli military, Iran appears to be increasingly relying on missiles with cluster submunitions. Those contain less explosive material but are more difficult to intercept and designed for more-widespread damage. At least 15 people have been killed in Israel by Iranian attacks since the start of the war, according to the public diplomacy directorate.
