Russian President Vladimir Putin said his country "remains a loyal friend and reliable partner to Tehran during this difficult time," according to a Kremlin statement.

The message to Iran, on the occasion of Persian New Year, Nowruz, comes after The Wall Street Journal reported that Russia has been providing satellite imagery and improved drone technology to aid Iran.
