Materials Down as Gold Plunges -- Materials Roundup

Producers of metals, grains and other raw materials fell alongside gold futures.

Gold prices plunged 9.5% for the week to $4570.40 a troy ounce, the biggest weekly drop in records going back to 1975.

Talks between Thyssenkrupp and Jindal Steel about the latter's acquisition of the German heavy-industry firm's steel unit appear to have stalled, according to Thyssenkrupp supervisory board member Juergen Kerner.
