Middle East Cease-Fire Extension Seen as 'Moderately Bullish' for Bond Markets -- Market Talk
Dow Jones04-22
0550 GMT - The extension of the cease-fire in the Middle East is "moderately bullish" for bond markets, Commerzbank's Hauke Siemssen says in a note. However, the muted market reaction to the cease-fire extension is quite telling as markets are growing increasingly numb to developments in Iran, the rates strategist says. More relevant is probably the continued blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, where an agreement is still a long way off, keeping the pressure on energy prices high, he says. Commerzbank affirms its base case of a prolonged, unstable stalemate with shifting deadlines. (emese.bartha@wsj.com)
