Lightstorm, Singtel, Microsoft to Launch India-Southeast Asia Submarine Cable

Lightstorm signed consortium agreements with Singtel (SGX:Z74) Microsoft and Tata Communications (NSE:TATACOMM, BOM:500483) to build a submarine cable system that will link India's east coast to Singapore and Malaysia.
The 3,600-kilometer I-2SEA is expected to be service-ready by the fourth quarter of 2029 and is designed for AI workloads, according to a Thursday statement from the city-state's AI connectivity platform operator.
Under the agreement, NEC Corp. (TYO: 6701) was named system supplier while ASEAN Cableship was the marine installation partner.
