Trump: Admin returns Endangered Species Act to original intent

Trump's Truth Social latest posts06:52

President Donald Trump announced on August 4 via X that his administration has restored the Endangered Species Act to its intended scope, criticizing radical climate activists for attempting to "hold our Great Country hostage" through unreasonable expansion of the law.

"This was complete and total regulatory overreach by unelected bureaucrats!" Trump wrote, accusing the previous approach of unfairly stifling production of oil, natural gas, and timber, blocking construction of family homes and critical infrastructure, and even preventing military training on land deemed "off limits" to protect "a little rodent."

The president stated his administration has returned the law to how it was "intended to be, just as the Great Justice Antonin Scalia has explained in previous cases." Trump concluded, "While responsibly protecting our beautiful Country, the United States of America is going to BUILD again."
