President Donald J. Trump announced on August 4 that the new military complex under construction at the East Wing of the White House is on budget and substantially ahead of schedule. The project, built for the U.S. military, will include a DronePort and a Ballroom, the latter paid for by private donors without taxpayer money.
"The very complex and expensive structure, being built for the United States Military, at the East Wing of the White House," Trump wrote on X. He noted that the steel for the DronePort is already fabricated and ready to be delivered imminently. The complex, he said, is "the best of the best" and will provide the highest level of defense, offense, and safety for Washington, D.C., and for future presidents.
Trump also highlighted the "desperately needed Ballroom" situated directly under the elevated DronePort, which he said former presidents have wanted for 150 years. The Ballroom is funded by "Great American Patriots — No Taxpayer Money!" The White House and the U.S. Secret Service are working closely on the project.
