Japan's Machine Tool Orders Rise at Faster Rate in August

Japan's machine tool orders increased 64.7% year over year in August, according to data from the Japan Machine Tool Builders' Association released on Wednesday.

The pace of growth accelerated from the 50.4% expansion recorded the previous month, beating the Trading Economics forecast of 43%.

Total orders reached 197.9 billion yen, driven by a 65.8% rise in foreign demand to 146.4 billion yen and a 61.6% increase in domestic orders to 51.5 billion yen.
