President Donald Trump on September 17 said on X that the Farm Bill passed along strict party lines in a committee vote, with 12 Republican "YEAS" to 11 Democrat "NAYS." Trump expressed pride in having secured the previous Farm Bill in December 2018 and looked forward to working with Republican lawmakers again to deliver a second, more comprehensive bill.
"Yesterday our Farm Bill passed along strict Party Lines, 12 Republican 'YEAS,' to 11 Dumocrat 'NAYS,'" Trump wrote. He said the Phase Two vote will be taken soon and expressed confidence that Republicans would support the nation's farmers and ranchers.
Trump also promised "some much needed Dollar Assistance" for farmers, ranchers and rural communities, and criticized the Biden administration as "very Anti-Farm." He concluded: "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
