Trump: Going home in dark after time change is depressing

Trump's Truth Social latest posts10-04

President Donald Trump posted on social media platform X on October 3, stating that immediately after the mandatory time change, going home at night in darkness is hateful and depressing. He cited complaints from a table full of distinguished people, including one gentleman who said, "I just hate going home in darkness." Trump also warned that in crime-ridden blue states, walking home in the dark is far more dangerous.

Trump wrote: "I don’t know about anyone else, but a table full of very distinguished people just told me that they HATE, immediately after a mandatory time change, going home at night – and it’s DARK. It’s depressing! One of the gentleman stated that, “I just hate going home in darkness.” It’s also, in Crime Ridden Blue States, a lot more dangerous to be walking home in the dark!"

Trump has long criticized daylight saving time and previously advocated for abolishing the clock change, though no formal action has been taken. His latest remarks have renewed public discussion on the effects of the time change.
