President Donald Trump posted on X on October 5, accusing The New York Times of using an altered photograph of his Trump National Doral resort in Miami to make it look shoddy and filthy. He claimed the paper deliberately darkened and denigrated the facade so that world leaders would see a false image, while the actual appearance is shown in a second picture.
Trump called The New York Times "a CROOKED outfit that caters to Lunatics who want to see our Country fail" and singled out reporters Peter Baker and "Maggot HAGerman" as "Third Rate Reporters" who write about him constantly without fact-checking. He predicted that the newspaper, suffering from lack of credibility, will be forced to close its doors, calling that "a Great Day for America!"
