President Donald Trump announced on social media platform X on October 9 that he had concluded a "highly successful discussion" with Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which Russia agreed to immediately supply over 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to the American and global marketplace, followed by an additional 500,000 tons in November and 1 million tons shortly after. Based on the condition of their diesel refineries, Russia will then deliver 3 million tons of diesel fuel within a short period.
Trump stated that with the "TOTAL CONTROL of the Strait of Hormuz" and this Russian energy announcement, diesel prices for Americans and the world will be "COMING DOWN, IN RECORD NUMBERS, AND FAST!" He emphasized that lowering prices, especially for American farmers, ranchers, and truckers, is his "Greatest Priority."
The president also asserted that "Iran will not have a Nuclear Weapon."
