DBS Group is scheduled to report its third-quarter results on Thursday. Here is what you need to know:
NET PROFIT FORECAST: Singapore's largest bank is expected to post a 0.7% drop in net profit to 2.93 billion Singapore dollars, equivalent to US$2.29 billion, compared with a year earlier, according to the consensus estimate of nine analysts polled by Visible Alpha.
REVENUE FORECAST: DBS's total income likely rose 2.7% to S$6.09 billion Singapore dollars from a year earlier, according to six analysts polled by Visible Alpha.
Shares of DBS have continued hitting record highs during the third quarter, rising 18.5% for the period.
WHAT TO WATCH:
--DBS's resilient noninterest income was likely offset by normalizing fees and weaker market-related income, Jefferies analysts said in a note. Softer equity market conditions and higher bond yields may have driven negative trading income momentum in the third quarter, said Maybank Securities analyst Thilan Wickramasinghe.
--Investors will watch for DBS's wealth management segment, which has been a bright spot in recent quarters. DBS is aiming for the segment's assets under management to reach S$1 trillion.
--DBS's outlook for 2026 and 2027 will also be in focus, after the stock lost ground in early October. The pullback in DBS stock comes along declines for peers Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp. and United Overseas Bank amid investor concerns over earnings risks facing the sector.
