POINTSValuations for tech companies have been squeezed due to macroeconomic headwinds and economic uncertainty, but the pressures have also created buying opportunities.Taking a buy-and-hold approach with sturdy tech companies that are on track to benefit from big trends such as cybersecurity, cloud computing, and AI cloud have big payoffs.Crowdstrike and Alphabet are enticing.With inflation continuing to run hot and concerns that the Federal Reserve will need to continue raising interest rates to get the situation under control, growth stocks have been under pressure over the last couple of years. The growth-heavy Nasdaq Composite index trades down roughly 25% from its high, and even strong companies that are posting profits have seen sell-offs push past that level. But while the turbulent market backdrop may be cause for concern in the near term, it also creates windows of opportunity to buy stocks at levels that open the door for stellar gains over the long term. If you're on the hunt for great investments you can confidently hold forever, read on for a look at two innovative and resilient tech companies that are poised to deliver tremendous returns. 1. CrowdStrikeBusiness is increasingly migrating to and expanding in digital channels, and cybercriminals are ramping up attack attempts. As a result, demand for CrowdStrike's (CRWD 0.81%) services has been surging. The company's AI-powered Falcon platform evolves with each threat that it comes into contact with and provides detection capabilities and protections that help prevent computers, mobile devices, servers, and other hardware from being used to breach networks.Spurred by customer additions and existing customers purchasing new service modules, CrowdStrike grew revenue 48% year over year to reach $637.4 million in the fourth quarter, and non-GAAP (adjusted) earnings per share jumped 58.5% to reach $111.6 million. This performance pushed revenue to $2.24 billion and adjusted earnings per share to $1.54 for the year, up 54% and 130%, respectively, on an annual basis. Free cash flow climbed 53% to hit $676.8 million.Based on management's midpoint target, sales are expected to climb roughly 39% year over year in the first quarter. Meanwhile, midpoint guidance for the full-year period calls for revenue growth of roughly 34% and adjusted per-share earnings growth of 49%. Even with a less favorable macroeconomic backdrop, the cybersecurity leader is on track to grow revenue and earnings at encouraging clips this year, and its long-term growth story likely remains in very early innings.Trading down approximately 50% from its high, CrowdStrike looks like a great buy-and-hold play right now.2. AlphabetDespite macroeconomic headwinds pressuring the digital advertising industry, Alphabet (GOOGL 2.67%) (GOOG 2.82%) continues to look like one of the most attractively valued big-tech stocks on the market. The company is in the early stages of recognizing massive benefits from the evolution of artificial intelligence technologies, and its strengths in search, mobile OS, cloud computing, and other categories combine to create an incredible products-and-services ecosystem.Trading at under 21 times expected forward earnings, the stock looks like a great long-term buy, even though macro challenges have led to slower sales growth and a dip in earnings lately. Alphabet's sales inched up roughly 1% year over year in the fourth quarter to reach roughly $76 billion. The company managed to post sales growth despite its core Google Search-and-other segment seeing sales fall approximately 1.6% compared to the prior-year period to land at $42.6 billion. Notably, the company has been seeing strong momentum in the cloud infrastructure services market, with its Google Cloud business growing sales 32% year over year to hit $7.3 billion in Q4.With its Q4 performance, Alphabet closed out the year with sales up roughly 10% to hit $282.8 billion and earnings down 19% to $4.56 per share. While the slowdown in the digital ads market pressured sales and earnings performance, the company continued to post strong margins and earnings, and it retains excellent financial footing. The tech giant has roughly $113.8 billion in cash and equivalents against just $14.8 billion in debt, and it's generating strong free cash flow even as its core digital ads business is facing some headwinds. Alphabet's fantastic war chest and portfolio of category-leading technology services should help it continue to be one of the most influential and profitable companies in the world. The business has sturdy pillars that can withstand pressures and its incredible access to data and tech resources positions it to be one of the biggest drivers and beneficiaries of the AI revolution. Nvidia and Tesla are proof of that. Shares of Nvidia soared 8,250% over the past decade, meaning an initial investment of $20,000 would now be worth $1.7 million. Similarly, shares of Tesla climbed 7,340% over the past decade, turning an initial investment of $20,000 into nearly $1.5 million.Are these growth stocks still worth buying?1. NvidiaSemiconductor company Nvidia stumbled last year as high inflation reduced demand for its gaming and data center chips. Revenue remained flat at $27 billion and free cash flow fell 53% to $3.8 billion. Unfortunately, management expects current quarter revenue to decline 22% as economic headwinds continue to suppress demand, though guidance implies operating expenses will also fall sharply.However, Nvidia should find it easy to reaccelerate growth when economic conditions improve. Its graphics processing units (GPUs) are the gold standard for rendering realistic visual effects in video games and films, and for accelerating complex data center workloads like scientific computing and artificial intelligence (AI). In fact, Nvidia GPUs hold more than 90% market share in workstation graphics and supercomputer accelerators.The company has recently branched into cloud software and services. Omniverse Cloud is a 3D design platform for metaverse applications. DGX Cloud provides on-demand access to Nvidia AI infrastructure, and it includes frameworks that accelerate AI application development in areas like retail, logistics, and healthcare. Nvidia also provides generative AI services for text, images, and video. For instance, investment company Morningstar uses the Nvidia NeMo model to scan and summarize financial documents.Those cloud services build on the brand authority Nvidia has cultivated as a chipmaker, and they create new revenue streams that offer more regular cash flow and higher margins than the sale of cyclical hardware products. Management values its addressable market at $1 trillion, and Nvidia should benefit greatly as technologies like the metaverse and AI continue to evolve.Currently, shares trade at 24.4 times sales, above the three-year average of 20.7 times sales. That valuation is far from cheap, but Nvidia is the heart of the burgeoning AI industry, so investors should still consider buying a small position in this growth stock today.2. TeslaTesla faced an onslaught of headwinds last year. Supply chain problems and factory closures hindered production, while high inflation and rising interest rates hammered sales across the auto industry. Tesla managed to grow deliveries 40% to 1.3 million vehicles, but that figure fell short of its medium-term guidance calling for 50% annual growth. Fourth-quarter deliveries also fell short of the Wall Street consensus by a wide margin.Some analysts have explained that shortfall as a demand problem, but management brushed those concerns aside during the latest earnings call. CEO Elon Musk said the company was receiving orders at nearly twice the rate of production. Better yet, despite encountering a number of roadblocks throughout the year, Tesla reported impressive financial results. Revenue increased 51% to $81.5 billion, and GAAP net income soared 122% to $3.62 per diluted share. Tesla also led the industry with 18.2% market share in battery electric vehicles.Additionally, the company achieved an operating margin of 16.8% last year, the highest among any volume carmaker. Musk attributes that accomplishment to manufacturing prowess, noting that Tesla has the most advanced manufacturing technology on the planet. Better yet, there are several reasons to believe the company will become more profitable in the future.Tesla should see its logistics costs fall as production ramps at Gigafactory Berlin, its first European factory, simply because the company can now produce cars locally in that market. Tesla is also scaling production of its 4680 battery cell, a technology that promises to reinforce its cost leadership in battery pack production. The company can already produce battery packs (the most expensive part of an electric car) at a lower cost per kilowatt-hour than any other carmaker, but management says the 4680 cell will eventually cut costs by 56%.Finally, Tesla sees significant margin upside from its full self-driving (FSD) software. A beta version of the product was released to customers in North America last year, and Tesla plans to take the next step toward autonomous ride hailing by mass-producing a robotaxi next year. Ultimately, management believes FSD technology will be the company's most important source of profitability.Tesla sits in front of a sizable market opportunity. Global electric car sales are expected to grow at 23% annually to hit $1.1 trillion by 2030, according to Precedence Research. And the autonomous vehicles market is expected to grow at 40% annually to reach $2.1 trillion by 2030, according to Research and Markets. As the current leader in battery electric vehicles and one of the leading AI companies (according to Musk), Tesla is set to benefit from both tailwinds. The stock currently trades at 8 times sales, a very rich valuation for a carmaker.Investors must decide whether Tesla is a carmaker that dabbles in AI, or an AI company that makes cars. Those who find the second description more accurate should consider buying a few shares of this growth stock today. If Tesla does indeed disrupt the mobility industry with robotaxis, its revenue (and margins) could grow quickly and the current valuation multiple could fall in a hurry.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"NVDA":0.9,"TSLA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2099,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9959193897,"gmtCreate":1672923724219,"gmtModify":1676538758309,"author":{"id":"3570444284639989","authorId":"3570444284639989","name":"Pangabui","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/32b4b9242d9aab94ee79aaaf573818e8","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3570444284639989","idStr":"3570444284639989"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[微笑] ","listText":"[微笑] ","text":"[微笑] ","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9959193897","repostId":"2301479071","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2261,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9959061851,"gmtCreate":1672857172274,"gmtModify":1676538749078,"author":{"id":"3570444284639989","authorId":"3570444284639989","name":"Pangabui","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/32b4b9242d9aab94ee79aaaf573818e8","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3570444284639989","idStr":"3570444284639989"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[微笑] ","listText":"[微笑] ","text":"[微笑] ","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9959061851","repostId":"2300464182","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2300464182","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1672814210,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2300464182?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2023-01-04 14:36","market":"us","language":"en","title":"TSMC Had a Down Year in 2022, Why the Stock Is a Buy in 2023","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2300464182","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"This Asian contract chip manufacturer faces slowing growth in the first half of 2023, but results should rebound by the end of the year.","content":"
\n
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing , also known as TSMC, was down 42% in 2022 due to investor angst about high inflation and rising interest rates, fears of collapsing demand for chips, and legitimate...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; But despite the stock's decline in 2022, many investors have put it on their buy list for 2023. TSMC is a 'best in class' chipmakerTSMC is the largest semiconductor contract manufacturer (or foundry) in the world. According to market research company TrendForce, TSMC grew its foundry market share to 56.1% in the third quarter of 2022, while in second place, Samsung's market share fell 10 basis points to 15.5%.Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing also displayed outstanding revenue growth of 35.9% year over year to $20.23 billion in the third quarter. But what elevates TSMC to greatness is its margins. According to current Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger, a \"best in class\" semiconductor company achieves gross margins in the 60% range and operating margins in the 40% range. Despite terrible economic conditions, TSMC achieved those levels in the third quarter of 2022 by producing gross margins of 60.4%, beating its guidance for the quarter (between 57.5% and 59.5%) and exceeding year-ago gross margins of 51.3%. And operating margins during the quarter came in at an outstanding 50.6%, beating its guidance of 47% to 49% and exceeding year-ago results of 41.2%.Historically, semiconductor companies that win the race to produce the smallest and most power-efficient chips gain premium pricing, more revenue, and the highest margins. TSMC is winning the race.As chips get smaller and more complex, it requires more research and development and capital expenditure to produce chips capable of achieving premium pricing. And because the chip industry is cyclical, only the largest and most stable companies can afford the high price for investing in cutting-edge chips. So TSMC is one of the few companies on the bleeding edge for creating the smallest semiconductors, along with Samsung.Weak smartphone demand in the first half of 2023 loomsTSMC derives over 40% of its revenue from the mobile phone market. And it gets an extra revenue boost because it is the sole supplier for the iPhone, and Apple is its largest customer. So far, it has seen chip demand from the world's largest mobile phone manufacturer hold up during this downturn. For instance, Apple's stocking up with chips deployed in iPhone 14 models was why TSMC outperformed its peers in the third quarter of 2022.Image source: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing.Unfortunately, according to International Data Corporation, global smartphone shipments declined for the fifth consecutive quarter in the third quarter of 2022. This growth disease is already spreading to the previously immune Apple, with slowing iPhone demand in the period leading up to the holidays. And a zero-COVID-19 policy has reduced Apple's phone production in China.Since most experts and industry insiders think the global smartphone market will only recover late in the second half of 2023, investors should refrain from counting on the mobile phone business to boost TSMC's results in the near term. As a result, you can expect the stock to be volatile over the next several quarters.TSMC is a great long-term buyTSMC is an attractive long-term investment because it benefits from the high demand for more and better semiconductors driven by the cloud, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, 5G, and high-performance computing -- trends that are decades-long growth opportunities.The stock's price-to-earnings ratio has dropped from the first half of 2021 highs of 30-plus to today's 12.83, levels not seen since early 2017. And TSMC's price/earnings-to-growth (PEG) ratio is 0.62; most investors consider a PEG ratio below 1 a sign of an undervalued stock.So if you are looking for a great company to invest in to start 2023, TSMC is an excellent long-term buy at the current price.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AAPL":0.9,"TSM":0.9,"INTC":0.75}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2459,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9921156693,"gmtCreate":1671009251113,"gmtModify":1676538474944,"author":{"id":"3570444284639989","authorId":"3570444284639989","name":"Pangabui","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/32b4b9242d9aab94ee79aaaf573818e8","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3570444284639989","idStr":"3570444284639989"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[微笑] ","listText":"[微笑] ","text":"[微笑] ","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9921156693","repostId":"2291716597","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2291716597","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1671000843,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2291716597?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-12-14 14:54","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Down 24%, Is Alibaba Stock a Buy?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2291716597","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"China might finally be easing up on its COVID-19 restrictions. Like many e-commerce companies, it faces global macroeconomic challenges like inflation and possible recession. But China-specific headwinds are another big problem, too.Let's take a look at both of these factors and what they could mean for the company's outlook in the year ahead.What went wrong for Alibaba?Established in 1999, Alibaba is the undisputed leader in Chinese e-commerce, with a market share of 47%. But far from just an e-commerce company, it operates a portfolio business that includes cloud computing, traditional retail, and logistics. Alibaba's size gives it a solid economic moat against rivals through economies of scale and the \"network effect,\" which is the value a platform gains as more people use it.Image source: Getty Images.The company's share price has historically reflected its business success -- rising 366% between its initial public offering at $68 per share in 2014 and its all-time high of $317 six years later. But after a strong performance in the early stages of the pandemic, a revenue slowdown and regulatory uncertainty have become big red flags for investors.Revenue growth is slowing dramaticallyAlibaba's third-quarter earnings highlight the severity of its challenges. Revenue increased by just 3% year over year to $29.1 billion, which is a sharp deceleration from the 29% growth rate reported in the prior-year period. According to management, this weakness is partially due to China's strict zero-COVID policy, which has been weighing on consumption. But this narrative might not be telling the whole story.Strict COVID lockdowns have been going on in China for the past three years, and they didn't stop the company from posting double-digit growth rates during most of those periods. In fact, the lockdowns are widely believed to have boosted stay-at-home shopping in 2020 and 2021.Instead of zero-COVID, Alibaba's more fundamental problem may be business stagnation and maturity. And while China is finally moving to ease some of the strictest aspects of its zero-COVID policy, the changes probably won't shoot Alibaba back to its previous growth rates.The BBC reports that the company may be dealing with growing competition and a regulatory crackdown from the Chinese government. In 2021, Alibaba was fined $2.8 billion for antitrust violations by preventing merchants from selling on other platforms. The increased scrutiny could be making management more cautious about the tactics they use to expand.Additional long-term challenges include U.S. trade restrictions on exporting cutting-edge semiconductor chips to China. Semiconductors help power data centers, artificial intelligence, and other technologies. And the export ban could hurt Alibaba's efforts to stay competitive in cloud computing. Revenue in the company's cloud services segment grew by 4% to 20,757 yuan ($2.98 billion), roughly 10% of total revenue.A low valuation but riskyWith a price-to-earnings multiple of 12, Alibaba trades at a significant discount to the S&P 500's average of 20. But that doesn't necessarily make its shares a good deal. Regulatory uncertainty in China is a big challenge for long-term investors. And the company's slowing revenue growth could eventually lead to stagnant profits if the situation doesn't improve. The stock looks like a sell or a hold for now.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"09988":0.6,"BABA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2146,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9929311307,"gmtCreate":1670599710910,"gmtModify":1676538402494,"author":{"id":"3570444284639989","authorId":"3570444284639989","name":"Pangabui","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/32b4b9242d9aab94ee79aaaf573818e8","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3570444284639989","idStr":"3570444284639989"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[无语] ","listText":"[无语] ","text":"[无语] ","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9929311307","repostId":"1155703769","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1155703769","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1670599521,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1155703769?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-12-09 23:25","market":"us","language":"en","title":"U.S. Stocks Remained Low in Morning Trading;
