A government report on Friday showed the Employment Cost Index rose 4% in the year through December, the most in two decades.Fed Kicks Off Most Aggressive Global Tightening in Decades“The evidence that wage growth is running above levels consistent with the Fed’s inflation target has strengthened, and we have revised up our inflation path,” the Goldman Sachs economists said in a report to clients. “In addition, Chair Powell’s comments earlier this week made it clear that the Fed leadership is open to a more aggressive pace of tightening.”The Fed could still switch gears if market conditions change or the economy decelerates much faster than projected, or tighten monetary policy even more than forecast if inflation remains high enough, they said.Even as they agreed the Fed will do more than they previously bet, banks were divided this week over how aggressive policy makers would be.Bank of America Corp. now predicts seven rate hikes in 2022 and BNP Paribas SA forecasts six, while JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Deutsche Bank AG see five.Nomura Holdings Inc. even reckons the central bank will deliver a 50 basis points increase in March, which would be the biggest move since 2000.Bloomberg Economics is sticking with the projection of five hikes it made earlier this month, though Chief Economist Anna Wong said this week there is a risk of six increases.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".IXIC":0.9,".DJI":0.9,".SPX":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2158,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9090292247,"gmtCreate":1643188292145,"gmtModify":1676533783101,"author":{"id":"3577233160413860","authorId":"3577233160413860","name":"Clotzyng","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c56c3d6b1db5d3bf283b23cdb3e4f49a","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3577233160413860","idStr":"3577233160413860"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Microsoft rock solid","listText":"Microsoft rock solid","text":"Microsoft rock solid","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9090292247","repostId":"1122344032","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1122344032","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1643187709,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1122344032?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-26 17:01","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Microsoft Rose Nearly 3% in Premarket Trading after Posting Its Strong Sales Forecast","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1122344032","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Microsoft rose nearly 3% in premarket trading after posting its strong sales forecast.Microsoft repo","content":"<html><head></head><body><p>Microsoft rose nearly 3% in premarket trading after posting its strong sales forecast.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/db5ae5f0ea90fdc8ca556fd6f0be6644\" tg-width=\"769\" tg-height=\"565\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"/></p><p>Microsoft reported fiscal second-quarter earnings of $18.8 billion, or $2.48 a share, up from $2.03 a share a year ago, and revenue jumped to $51.73 billion from $43.08 billion a year ago. This figure is expected to increase to 22% of global retail sales by 2024, demonstrating that -- slowly but surely -- e-commerce is becoming a primary way consumers order goods in the modern era.E-commerce is widely adopted in the U.S. for the most part, but the true growth in e-commerce comes from international regions. Many parts of the world barely rely on e-commerce for their retail needs, but as these regions begin to rapidly adopt online retail, these three companies could reap major benefits.Sea Limited Sea Limited is looking to become a global e-commerce company. Its e-commerce business -- Shopee -- got its start in Singapore in 2015, but it has since expanded across the world. Shopee is now a dominant e-commerce player across all of Southeast Asia and Latin America, and even has ties in India and Europe. With such a broad reach, Shopee became the most downloaded shopping app in the world in 2021.This dominance has unsurprisingly led to amazing growth for the company. Revenue for its e-commerce segment reached $1.5 billion in the third quarter of 2021, which grew a whopping 134% year over year. Total revenue also grew 122% year over year, helped by its two other strong businesses that are growing at triple-digit rates. Many companies growing revenue at triple-digit rates are micro-cap companies, but Sea Limited is a large and established business -- its market cap is $103 billion -- making its growth that much more impressive.Not only is Sea Limited a leading e-commerce company, it also has one of the world's most popular video games and a resilient fintech business. The company continuously puts up strong top-line growth in all parts of its business, yet it is valued at just 12 times sales -- the lowest valuation that Sea has seen in over a year. Despite the stock falling drastically over the past few months, Sea Limited is succeeding on all fronts of its business, making it one of my best ideas to buy today and hold for decades.Pinterest Pinterest stock has also been crushed like Sea Limited. From its all-time high set in early 2021, the company's shares have fallen over 60%. This has led to Pinterest potentially becoming a value play: Pinterest's forward price-to-earnings ratio is 24. This valuation is almost equal to Meta Platforms' valuation of 23 times forward earnings, despite Pinterest having magnitudes more growth potential.For Pinterest, the growth story is in its average revenue per user (ARPU). The company's platform has strong adoption both in the U.S. and internationally, but Pinterest is just getting started with developing itself as an e-commerce platform. It has struggled with monetization in the past, but it has recently taken steps to make it easy for consumers to buy items they see on the platform. The company has made it easier for sellers to tag items in pictures, so when Pinterest users see a product they like, it only takes them a few clicks to purchase.The opportunity for Pinterest to grow its ARPU is massive. In Q3, Pinterest's global ARPU was just $1.41 which pales in comparison to Meta's global ARPU of $10. Considering that both companies currently sell at roughly the same price, Pinterest's opportunity to grow in the online e-commerce market is immense, and I think this social media stock has more promise than any of its peers.Coupang Coupang might be the most undervalued international e-commerce stock today. It is valued at less than 2 times sales, lower than Sea Limited, Alibaba, and even Amazon. Despite this rock-bottom price, the Korean-based e-commerce giant is seeing impressive strength. The company has 16.8 million active customers, which make up almost one-third of the Korean population. Despite this strong leadership in the country, its active customers still increased 20% year over year in Q3, marking the 15th consecutive quarter Coupang has grown its active customer count by this much.What makes Coupang truly special and unreplicable is its strong footprint in Korea. About 70% of Korean citizens live within just seven miles of a logistics center, making it possible for Coupang to offer same-day, next-day, or dawn delivery for almost all orders on its platform. This major infrastructure investment Coupang has made over several years would be incredibly hard and expensive to replicate by any competitor, and it has allowed Coupang to develop an extremely strong brand name and customer satisfaction.The company is looking to expand into Japan, but that could take a long time to materialize. After all, the company would have to reinvest in infrastructure as it did in Korea all over again. However, if it can build up its impressive logistics infrastructure again, the company could see the same success it has had in South Korea. These two regions alone would allow Coupang to grow steadily for the next five years, and it is even eyeing other countries like Singapore and Taiwan. Even if you're just looking at Japan and South Korea, though, the future looks bright for Coupang.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"SE":1,"PINS":1,"BGNE":0.9,"CPNG":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2062,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9004976405,"gmtCreate":1642492649707,"gmtModify":1676533715268,"author":{"id":"3577233160413860","authorId":"3577233160413860","name":"Clotzyng","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c56c3d6b1db5d3bf283b23cdb3e4f49a","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3577233160413860","idStr":"3577233160413860"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"But all 3 didn’t drop much","listText":"But all 3 didn’t drop much","text":"But all 3 didn’t drop much","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9004976405","repostId":"2204775898","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2204775898","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1642420611,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2204775898?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-17 19:56","market":"us","language":"en","title":"3 Stocks I'm Buying During a Tech Stock Correction","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2204775898","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"A sell-off is a good opportunity to buy shares of these three companies.","content":"<div>\n<p>Tech stocks have gotten off to a rough start this year. For instance, the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite index is down 5% so far.If this continues into full-blown correction territory, widely considered a 10% decline, investors can pick up certain tech stocks at good valuations. That's because a broad sell-off affects most stocks, even those of high-quality companies. Fortunately, these three companies have strong long-term earnings prospects, making them ideal candidates for buy-and-hold investors.1.Alphabet Alphabet is so much more than a search engine. Its products also include Android, Chrome, Google Maps, YouTube, and Google Cloud. In other words, very popular offerings that drive advertising revenue and user fees.Fortunately, management continues to push the company forward, allowing it to evolve rather than grow stale like many other tech companies. For example, Alphabet continues to improve its search engine. Instead of typing a query into a simple search bar, users can now speak into multiple devices to find what they need. The company continues to look for ways to improve the function to make sure it returns appropriate and reliable information. Alphabet's search business continues to grow, including a 46% revenue increase in the first nine months of 2021 to $105.7 billion. There are also its YouTube ads and Google cloud offerings, which experienced 57% and 48% revenue growth to $20.2 billion and $13.7 billion, respectively.These are part of the vision management laid out to become an artificial-intelligence-first company. A person can see how well its plans are working by looking at Alphabet's results, which have shown continued strong revenue and income growth. Excluding foreign-currency effects, its third-quarter revenue grew by 39% to $65.3 billion. And its operating income nearly doubled to $21 billion.Advertising made up 82% of the quarterly revenue, and the outlook for digital ads remains strong. Google generates ads on its sites, including search plus other properties like Gmail and Google Maps. These involve paid clicks and impressions. YouTube has traditional advertising.With a price-earnings ratio (P/E) of 27, the stock isn't as expensive as it was a few months ago when it was above 30. This also isn't much off of the S&P 500's P/E of 29. Considering Alphabet's strong growth prospects, the stock doesn't appear richly valued.2. Microsoft Microsoft remains at the top of its game. Its three businesses, productivity and business processes (including Office and LinkedIn), intelligent cloud, and more personal computing (Windows, devices, and gaming, among other products), continue to do well.And management continues to bolster Microsoft's strong market position. This includes acquiring Nuance Communications last year for $19.7 billion, strengthening its cloud offerings. In particular, the deal boosted Microsoft's offerings to the healthcare industry, which it only began providing in 2020. Nuance's products include speech-enabled artificial intelligence, helping reduce paperwork. This already uses Microsoft's Azure cloud platform, which is among its several other cloud services..In the fiscal first quarter, which ended on Sept. 30, 2021, the intelligent cloud business experienced a 30.6% increase in revenue to nearly $17 billion. Overall, Microsoft's quarterly revenue grew by 20% after removing the effects of foreign currency translations, to $45.3 billion. This drove operating income 24% higher to $20.2 billion. Its operating margin expanded by 1.9 percentage points to 44.7%Microsoft's P/E stands at 34, down from above 38 at the end of 2021. With all of the company's services and products showing significant growth on top of the new opportunities, any chance to get the stock at its relatively \"lower\" P/E could pay off.3. Nvidia Nvidia makes graphics cards. In fact, it is one of the dominant companies in the space. This innocuous-sounding description doesn't do it justice, however. Its products allow devices like computers to have high-quality graphics. It has also been pushing into other popular areas. These include artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, augmented reality, and virtual reality.The company is poised to continue meeting the strong demand for high-performance laptops used by game aficionados, including a new 30 series graphics card. Meanwhile, it also plans on releasing a lower-end product. The market typically welcomes Nvidia's releases, and it has been anxiously awaiting a less expensive offering.Nvidia continues to operate on all cylinders. Its fiscal third-quarter revenue rose by 50% to $7.1 billion, and operating income increased by 91% to $2.7 billion. The company's operating margin was 37.6%, eight percentage points higher than a year ago.Investing in tech stocks presents challenges in a fast-moving world. But these companies have proven staying power. Better still, with an eye to the future, each should continue staying relevant to its customers and continue driving revenue growth. While tech stocks have had a rough start to the year, these three will prove long-term winners, and investors should view any overall decline in the sector as a good opportunity to buy shares.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GOOGL":1,"NVDA":1,"GOOG":1,"MSFT":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1827,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"defaultTab":"posts","isTTM":true}
