China's electricity consumption grew 6.8% in 2024.
The secondary industry - manufacturing, mining, construction, and energy - grew 5.1%. It accounts for 2/3rds of China's electricity consumption.
GDP and electricity consumption are positively correlated. This tells us that China's economy has been growing despite the challenges of a weak real estate market in 2024.
