$Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$ For three straight quarters, selling MSFT and buying META prior to the earnings announcement has been the right play for one reason only. In each of the last three quarters both MSFT and META have issued beats on both earnings and revenues. The singular difference that has resulted in META soaring and MSFT tanking after each of these last three reports has been that MSFT has issued conservative forward guidance. For three straight quarters, META has issued more positive, upbeat guidance while MSFT has sandbagged its future guidance. One would think (although one is unsure) that MSFT management has learned its lesson and is dealing with tempered expectations, so maybe it will no longer need to sandbag forward guidance going forward.
