Nah. Look around in our Singapore schools and the topics revolving around parents these days. Look at the heavy emphasis on P1 Registration, PSLE, DSA, O Lvls, A Lvls, Diploma, Deg etc. Do you see any parent concerned about their children being unable to trade when they graduate? Nopes, that seems like the least of concerns. Parents seem more preoccupied on whether their children can find good jobs after graduation. No one seems to care if investing is necessary. Because afterall, no money how to invest right? Can't even find a job how to invest? Go think about it.

YAH I SAW THIS NEWS TOO. What's the point of studying hard then? Study hard only to have no jobs, be demoralised, discredited, indebted due to study loans and end up being a Grab driver? What's the future of Singapore graduates gonna be like? Do uni graduates still have an advantage over those without?

That's something I used to question myself. It seems like no one seems to bother about a uni degree or poly diploma anymore. It's more of who can get the job done with the lowest salary asking price. At this rate, our society will spiral downwards with more airheads and stupidity.

  • Sad truth but its something prevalent these days. At this rate, children have no incentives to work hard, study hard and be highly educated because education doesn't seem to matter anymore.

LKY is gonna wake from his grave and scream lol. What happened to the nurturing and building of human talent / resource that he envisioned for Singapore? At this rate, no one is gonna take education seriously.

Agree. Our children are in for a tough ride in future. Kinda bleak. In my time it was already hard. My peers took a year to find job after graduation. Some ended up serving tables even.
