The last time I shared a post on $Rigetti Computing(RGTI)$, it was 11 Jan 2025, three days after the big dive when most quantum stocks plunged, thanks to Nvidia’s CEO’s irresponsible remark about quantum computing’s time to market. Since then, much have happened in the quantum computing (QC) realm. As the quantum computing era dawns, Rigetti Computing, a key player in the sector, is capturing the attention of tech investors worldwide. With the recent spotlight shining on RGTI, its potential in redefining computation has sparked intense debate among financial analysts. Final Update Latest consensus on QC’s time to market is between 3 to 5 years, not the 15 to 20 years that NVDA’s CEO Jensen Huang has proclaimed back on 8 Jan 2025, when asked by a reporter at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 convention in Las Vegas. (see below) Actually, on 14 Jan 2025, IBD reported that $SAP SE(SAP)$ CEO Christian Klein sees quantum computing being effective in 3 to 4 years time, a huge contrast to what Mr Jensen Huang has said and seconded by Meta Platform Mark Zuckerberg. (see above) However, it was hardly picked up by the media at large. Pity ! Was it a “blessing” in disguise that on 05 Feb 2025, IT legend and $Microsoft(MSFT)$ co-founder, Mr Bill Gates decided to give his “impactful” 2-cents worth of opinion? On Yahoo Finance's Opening Bid podcast, he shared: "There is the possibility that he (Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang) could be wrong. There is the possibility in the next three to five years that one of these techniques would get enough true logical Qubits to solve some very tough problems. And, Microsoft is a competitor in that space. Just for the record, in November 2024, Microsoft has reported that it was co-designing & building "the world's most powerful quantum machine." It's expected to be released later in 2025. From the look of things, artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer IT’s new frontier- it is a reality.
