REA Group Report: Investor Activity Hits Highest Levels Since 2017 Amid Tight Rental Market and Falling Mortgage Rates

REA Group Limited has released the PropTrack Terri Scheer Investor Report, providing an analysis of current property market conditions for investors. The report highlights that investor activity has increased across most of Australia over the past year, with investors now making up their highest share of lending since 2017. Tight rental conditions and lower mortgage rates are cited as key factors supporting this growth. The report also notes that more than 90% of investment properties sold in the past year achieved a higher sale price than their original purchase price, marking a record high. Inner city areas of Sydney and Melbourne, as well as more affordable regions, remain popular among investors. With expectations of at least one further interest rate cut by the Reserve Bank and ongoing strong rental demand, investor activity is projected to remain robust in the coming year.
