Bitcoin $CME Bitcoin - main 2601(BTCmain)$ reclaiming the $90,000 level feels more like a test of conviction than a clean victory lap. When price approaches a major psychological level like this, I'm less focused on the headline and more on how the market behaves around it. The strength in crypto-related equities alongside Bitcoin suggests risk appetite is still there, but historically, these levels often come with hesitation rather than immediate follow-through.
Between direct Bitcoin exposure and crypto-related equities, I still prefer holding Bitcoin itself when prices are near key levels. Bitcoin gives me cleaner exposure without company-specific risks like balance sheets, dilution, or operational issues. Crypto equities can outperform during strong momentum phases, but they also tend to underperform sharply if sentiment turns, which makes them less attractive to me at inflection points.
At this stage, I'm preparing more for a consolidation than an immediate breakout. After strong moves, markets often need time to digest gains, shake out late entries, and rebuild a base. Sideways action above or just below $90,000 would actually strengthen the structure, in my view, rather than weaken it.
That said, I'm not ignoring the breakout scenario. If Bitcoin can hold above this level with rising volume and improving breadth across the ecosystem, I'm comfortable adding exposure gradually rather than chasing a single candle. I prefer reacting to confirmation instead of predicting the move in advance.
Overall, my approach here is patience and positioning, not excitement. Whether this turns into a Christmas breakout or a temporary pause, I'm more focused on staying aligned with the broader trend while managing risk carefully at these psychologically important levels.
As a retail investor, I focus mainly on the US and Singapore markets, combining a mix of technical trading and long-term investing strategies. I enjoy analyzing charts, spotting patterns, and making calculated moves based on both market sentiment and fundamentals. While I'm not a professional, I treat my portfolio seriously and continue to learn and grow with each trade.
