#MyOptionInvestmentJourney
Hi everyone! I am back again this week (Feb 02) with an update on my option investing journey.
For new reader, may refer to my recap section on the context.
Now for my update...
💰 Progress So Far:
I have saved up another 1K.
My current capital is 4,050 USD as of 01-Feb-2026.
This week, I have sold 1 PUT Option that expired on (20260227).
I have collected another 13.24 USD in premium — bringing my total Net Revenue since 12th August 2025 to 170.74 USD, which is approximately 4.22% p.a. to date on my capital (currently 4,050 USD).
This means I have 2 PUT Options that expired:
A. 20260206, and
B. 20260227
Thanks for following along — I will post updates bi-weekly.
Lets see how far this small start can go. 🚀
Good luck to all of us! 🍀
🔁 Recap:
I am exploring a practical way for everyday people (like me!) to make the most of their spare savings — and hopefully, this inspires or helps someone out there too.
[My Profile]
I started with 1,400 SGD / 1,050 USD in spare savings — just sitting in the bank earning minimal interest. Instead of letting it idle, I am testing if I can generate better returns through options investing.
I officially began this journey on August 12, 2025, and chose to invest in an ETF related to Tesla (TSLL) — primarily because of its exposure to Tesla and its dividend yield.
💼 What I've Done:
A. I have set aside about 4,050 USD in my Tiger account as of 2026-FEB-01 incase I get assigned to purchase 200 shares of TSLL from the PUT Options.
B. I am selling Put options to purchase TSLL at my comfortable price range with the duration of 4 weeks.
C. For this week, TSLL price is around 16~17 USD, and I am able to get Buyer for PUT option at 12.00 USD.
D. My Risk is that I may need to purchase TSLL at 12.00 USD per lot.
E. I check in once a week — super manageable, about 10 minutes weekly.
F. I plan to repeat this weekly until I eventually accumulate 100 or 200 shares of TSLL. Then I will make a slight change in this strategy.
