The recent semiconductor correction has been uncomfortable, but for me it has also created an opportunity. Instead of trying to predict the exact bottom, I've chosen to dollar-cost average (DCA) into ARM during this pullback. The recent selloff has been driven more by concerns over AI capital spending, higher interest rates, and broad deleveraging than by any major deterioration in ARM's long-term business. When quality companies are sold alongside the rest of the sector, I see that as a chance to gradually build a position.
What continues to attract me to ARM is its unique business model and dominant ecosystem. Unlike traditional chip manufacturers, ARM licenses its architecture and collects royalties from billions of devices worldwide. As AI expands from cloud data centers to smartphones, PCs, automotive, edge computing, and IoT, ARM's energy-efficient architecture is becoming increasingly important. The company is well positioned to benefit from the next wave of AI adoption without taking on the same manufacturing risks as many semiconductor companies.
I'm also optimistic about ARM's long-term growth beyond mobile devices. Demand for AI-enabled PCs, automotive chips, custom silicon, and data center CPUs continues to grow, with major customers including NVIDIA, Amazon, Microsoft, and other hyperscalers building ARM-based solutions. While valuation has been a concern, corrections like this help reduce some of that premium, allowing long-term investors to accumulate shares at more attractive prices rather than chasing momentum at new highs.
My strategy remains simple: stay patient, keep emotions out of investing, and continue accumulating high-conviction companies through volatility. No one can consistently buy at the lowest price, but DCA allows me to reduce timing risk while participating in ARM's long-term growth story. If the AI investment cycle continues over the coming years, I believe today's pullback could eventually look like an attractive entry point rather than a reason to stay on the sidelines.
