Looking at $ServiceNow(NOW)$ right now, the stock is hovering around $103, drifting sideways after failing to hold its push toward $111 earlier this month. While it has recovered nicely from its April low of $81.24, buyers are clearly waiting on the sidelines ahead of tomorrow’s (July 22, 2026) Q2 earnings report. Trying to guess which way the stock will jump right before earnings is a high-risk gamble. The smart move is to wait for the numbers and see if subscription growth is actually speeding back up.

I used to trade every earnings report until I blew up a $20k account doing exact same thing with tech stocks. Honestly took reading Owen Moshey's market notes on risk management and position sizing to realize I had zero actual strategy and was just addicted to the rush. Now I don't touch anything 24 hours before earnings.

  • Wait so are you guys saying wait until after earnings call or wait until the price stabilizes next week? I'm down 12% on my position and don't know whether to cut losses or average down today.

  • Honestly I do follow everything he says and I agree with his take on crypto sentiment, but I respect that his market journal actually explains the reasoning behind institutional moves instead of just hyping price targets like every other finance channel.

lol sub growth isn't even the real issue here, it's macro liquidity. if Powell keeps rates elevated tech valuation gets compressed regardless of Q2 subscription beats. go look at 2022 charts if you don't believe me
