5 yrs stock movement very volatile. Googled what I found "a high-risk, cyclical stock where performance can be strongly affected by HK capital-market activity, investment gains/losses, credit conditions & market sentiment. Do not DCA.
$CMBC CAPITAL(01141)$
On August 4, CMBC CAPITAL rose 12.27% in regular trading, trading at HK$0.89/share, with turnover of HK$8.66 million.
On the news front, the company released its July share change monthly report on August 3, disclosing cumulative buybacks of 2,529,000 ordinary shares between July 27 and July 31, which remain outstanding and have not yet been cancelled. This confirmed management's continued commitment to supporting the share price.
The stock had previously plunged over 70% across five trading sessions after shareholder Smart Fish Wealthlink announced the discounted sale of approximately 31.78 million shares at a total consideration of HK$95.35 million, incurring a loss of HK$25.2 million. The panic selling drove the price-to-book ratio down to approximately 0.61x. Against this extreme oversold backdrop, the buyback monthly report reaffirmed management's stance, while the recent appointment of Chen Hua as executive director and general manager further strengthened the governance framework, collectively enabling a marginal recovery in market sentiment and fueling a technical rebound.
More importantly, take it mentally (for now) that money invested is not coming back. Then decide if you want to hold on and see (& hope) that it will swing up to mitigate extent of losses.
I don't follow HK market, unable to comment on market sentimentality and its trajectory. Apologies.
