INTC & BE, Nancy Pelosi bought, should we?

Nancy Pelosi has been one of the most financially active members of Congress for years, and Wall Street has learned to observe, when she files her disclosure forms

Pelosi is the former Speaker of the House, who represented San Francisco for 39 years.

She is renown for reading the political & economic landscape better than most.

In a recent periodic transaction report (PTR), Pelosi disclosed two purchases that land squarely in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure trade.

Intel and Bloom Energy (virgin purchase).

According to the disclosure form, Pelosi purchased:

  • 50 call options on $Intel(INTC)$ with a $50 strike price expiring 17 Jun 2027.

  • 10,000 INTC shares worth between $500,001 - $1 million, on 24 Jul 2026.

  • 100 call options on $Bloom Energy Corp(BE)$ with a $100 strike price expiring 17 Jun 2027

  • 15,000 BE shares worth approx. $2.68 million.

Note:

  • The Intel position adds to her May 2026’s call options as reported by TheStreet disclosed in June 2026.

  • The Bloom Energy position is new.

  • As of Tue, 25 Aug 2026 - INTC trades near $87.48 /share while BE trades near $217.45 /share.

BE - Pelosi’s interesting purchase.

Bloom Energy is not a household name, but increasingly a hyperscaler necessity.

The 25-year-old, San Jose, California-based company manufactures solid oxide fuel cells that generate electricity on-site, independently from the grid

Data centers, AI factories, manufacturing facilities, and any large power consumer that cannot wait for grid capacity to catch up are potential BE customers.

In short, the AI infrastructure boom has turned BE’s business from a niche clean energy play into something closer to essential infrastructure.

According to CEO KR Sridhar in the Q2 earnings release:

  • BE is (now) a standard for AI onsite power.

  • Every major US hyperscaler and more than a dozen AI labs and neocloud data center operators have validated & approved BE's power solutions for their AI factories.

INTC Q2 2026 Earnings.

Quarterly.

  • Q2 2026 revenue hit $1.065 billion, surpassing $1 billion for the first time in company history, up +165.5% YoY.

  • Product revenue grew by +215.4%

  • Gross margin of 33.4% increased 668 basis points compared to last year’s 26.7%

  • Operating income of $182.2 million compared to a $3.5 million operating loss a year earlier.

  • Non-GAAP EPS of $0.78 grew $0.68 YOY.

  • Non-GAAP EPS of $0.78 increased by +$0.68, compared to $0.10

Full Year.

For the full-year 2026 revenue guidance was raised to $3.9 - $4.2 billion, representing approx. +100% YOY growth at the midpoint.

According to Yahoo Finance, BE is up +134.80% YTD and +320.31% over the past year.

Pelosi's call options with a $100 strike expiring on 17 Jun 2027 give her substantial leverage on any continued move higher.

INTC’s bet.

Pelosi has been buying INTC at various points in 2026.

In fact, the timing of her additions has generally been well-placed.

On 22 Jun 2026, INTC reached an all-time high price of $142.35.

As of 25 Aug 2026, current price of $87.48, reflects a significant pullback (-38.55%) from the peak, according to Yahoo Finance.

Even after the heavy pullback, INTC still records a year-to-date return of +122.14% (as of 25 Aug 2026’s closing) compared to a +11.79% gain from $S&P 500(.SPX)$.

The 1-year return stands at an aggressive 259.26% (as of 25 Aug 2026’s closing) compared to 18% from the S&P 500. (see below)

Her 24 Jul 2026 purchase of 10,000 shares and additional call options, suggests she is accumulating more by buying the dip.

As of 25 Aug 2026

According to Slickcharts:

INTC ranks 9th on the S&P 500 YTD performance table, trailing SanDisk, Moderna, Dell, Micron, Seagate, Marvell, Western Digitall and Lumentum Holdings. (see above)

The fundamental case for INTC at current levels is the same one $Goldman Sachs(GS)$ maintained after its Q2 beat.

INTC is executing its strongest revenue growth in 15 years.

The data centre artificial intelligence (DCAI) segment grew +59% YoY to $6.3 billion in Q2 2026, and the 18A foundry process is advancing on schedule.

According to INTC's 23 Jul 2026 earnings:

  • Q2 2026 revenue was $16.1 billion, up +25% YOY.

  • Q3 guidance calls for $15.8 - $16.8 billion in revenue.

In the same earnings report,

  • CEO Lip-Bu Tan said AI is driving "unprecedented demand for compute”.

  • CFO Dave Zinsner described the company as "meaningfully increasing investments" across equipment, cleanroom space, and substrates.

Pelosi's call options with a $50 strike expiring 17 Jun 2027, are well in the money at current prices, giving her significant upside leverage if INTC continues its recovery from the post-high pullback.

The 2-stocks’ thesis.

An analysis of Pelosi’s recent financial disclosures reveals a clear emerging theme.

She is betting on the physical infrastructure of the AI boom, not the software or model layer.

INTC provides:

  • The compute, or central processing units (CPUs) that power AI inference workloads.

  • The foundry capacity that US needs for domestic semiconductor manufacturing.

  • The custom silicon relationships with hyperscalers.

Other salient factors.

  • US government holds approx. a 10% stake in INTC, and the Trump administration’s push for domestic chip manufacturing, gives it a policy advantage over competitors.

  • CFO Zinser’s message at $Bank of America(BAC)$’s global technology conference on 02 Jun 2026, clarified that demand is not the constraint - supply is.

  • BAC’s double-upgraded INTC to “Buy” from “Underperform” on 11 Jun 2026.

  • On 23 Jun 2026, BAC further raised INTC’s price target to $160 from $135, pointing to a 2030 server CPU market projected to top $2.7 trillion.

Similarly, BE provides:

  • The power or the onsite fuel cells that let data centers and AI factories operate independently of congested electrical grids.

Sidetrack info:

Related coverage notes that Bill Gates' trust is shifting focus toward companies tied to (a) domestic economic activity (eg. $Home Depot(HD)$ & $FedEx(FDX)$) and (b) physical asset maintenance, instead of relying solely on financial holdings.

The shift reflects a fundamental pattern seen among successful investors, that is:

  • Long-term profitability depends on (1) developing a personalized strategy, (2) identifying a unique market edge, and (3) executing that system with discipline.

Ultimately, INTC and BE are essential to the physical stack that makes AI run at scale:

  • Neither is a consumer-facing tech story.

  • Both carry near-term volatility from their respective growth transitions.

  • Both have Pelosi's money behind them with option structures that give her significant upside leverage through mid-2027.

She has long been criticized for being one of the more financially active lawmakers in Congress. Whether that criticism is fair is more of a political question

Interestingly, according to a government disclosure filed on 22 Aug 2026 - it’s been revealed that Trump's investment accounts recorded 1,051 financial transactions in June 2026.

Total transaction values ranging from $78.1 to $263.1 million, . (see below)

Will the same critics that criticized Pelosi (where volume pales by comparison to Trump’s) do likewise to Trump or is he an exception ?

Coming back to Pelosi, her disclosures consistently reflect is a sophisticated understanding of where structural economic demand is flowing.

The AI power and compute trades she is making right now fit that pattern.

Technical Analysis.

Pelosi’s INTC adds are tactical, but her BE entry is strategic, aligning with the explosive demand for onsite AI power solutions, making BE the sharper focus of her disclosure.

To determine if BE is on track with Pelosi’s assessment, I will be looking at BE’s key technical tools of (a) Simple Moving Averages, (b) MACD, and (c) RSI, to see if it offers useful clues.

Due to real estate limitations, will not be looking into INTC’s.

Simple Moving Averages (SMAs).

On 25 Aug 2026, INTC closed at $217.45 per share, higher than its SMAs of (a) 20-day ($215.20), (b) 200-day ($187.33) but lower than (c) 50-day ($240.48).

Trading above the SMAs of 20-day and 200-day indicates immediate stabilization and preservation of the broad long-term uptrend.

However, remaining below the 50-day SMA signals intermediate overhead resistance and suggests BE is currently consolidating within a broader pullback.

MACD.

The MACD line (-5.80) and Signal line (-6.22) are both below Zero line, indicating that overall momentum remains bearish.

With the MACD line above the Signal line, and a positive divergence of 0.42 suggests that downward momentum may be easing and a short-term recovery could be developing.

RSI.

The 14-day RSI of 49.09 is near the neutral 50 level, showing balanced momentum with no clear overbought or oversold condition.

A sustained move above 50 would strengthen the case for further upside.

My viewpoints: (mine only)

Pelosi’s purchases suggest confidence in the long-term AI infrastructure theme, but they do not make INTC or BE “must-buy” stocks.

This is because the trades were made way before their public disclosure and the market may already have reacted by the time investors learned about them.

Both companies still face volatility, valuation concerns, and company-specific risks, including dilution concerns for INTC and the risk of buying BE after a major price increase.

Investors are ‘better off’ treating Pelosi’s trades as a research clue rather than a recommendation.

When it comes to investing, investors must always decide based on their (a) own goals, (b) time horizon, and (c) risk tolerance. Agree ?

Simply put, Pelosi’s purchase suggests that the stock may have value, but that doesn’t mean we should buy it just because she did. We still need to patiently analyze its fundamentals and underlying value.

On the Wednesday when all 3 US composite indexes fell by 4pm, Pelosi bought BE rose in opposite directions. (see attached)

Will the rise continues into Thursday ?  Only time will tell... What do you think ?
