$SPCX — THE $12 TRILLION MOONSHOT?

$900 a share. A $12.2 trillion valuation.

That’s the number Citi is putting on the table for $SpaceX(SPCX)$ if its long-term Starship and space-infrastructure vision plays out.

Sounds crazy?

Maybe. But the interesting part is what has to happen for SpaceX to get there.

Starship’s latest flight marked another important step. The massive rocket reached orbit and deployed 26 Starlink V3 satellites, giving SpaceX another demonstration of how Starship could eventually support a much larger space-based network.

And that’s where the valuation story gets bigger than rockets.

Citi’s thesis is essentially that SpaceX could become a platform for several huge businesses:

🚀 Reusable launch infrastructure

📡 A much larger Starlink network

🤖 AI infrastructure in space

🛰️ Satellite connectivity

🌎 Global communications

Citi estimates SpaceX could generate around $484 billion in revenue by 2030, with revenue potentially approaching $1 trillion by 2031.

Those are enormous assumptions.

And SpaceX still has plenty to prove.

The latest Starship flight wasn’t flawless. One Raptor engine shut down early, and the mission ended before completing everything planned. The next challenge is turning Starship from an extraordinary prototype into a reliable, rapidly reusable launch system.

That could be the real valuation unlock.

If SpaceX can dramatically lower launch costs, increase launch frequency and use Starship to rapidly expand Starlink and other space-based infrastructure, the addressable market becomes much larger than traditional aerospace.

But if Starship struggles to reach reliable high-frequency reuse, the $12 trillion scenario becomes much harder to support.

So I’m watching the milestones, not just the valuation headlines.

Can Starship become truly reusable?

Can launch frequency scale?

Can Starlink keep expanding?

And can SpaceX turn its enormous technological lead into equally enormous cash flows?

$12 trillion may sound like science fiction today. But the bigger question is whether SpaceX is building the infrastructure for an entirely new economy in space. 🚀
