China Merchants Group Partners with YXT to Advance Intelligent Talent Development for 300,000+ Employees

Recently, China Merchants Group, one of China’s leading diversified central state-owned enterprises, entered into a formal partnership with YXT.com Group Holding Limited ( $云学堂(YXT)$ ) to jointly develop the training module of the Group’s intelligent human resources system. The initiative will cover the Group headquarters and 25 second-tier subsidiaries, serving more than 300,000 employees, with a focus on training management, resource coordination, and AI-enabled talent development.

For a large enterprise group with diverse businesses, a vast workforce, and a complex organizational structure, the challenge of talent development goes far beyond simply providing courses. The more important question is how to enable knowledge, experience, and capabilities distributed across different organizations and business units to flow effectively. This partnership marks another step in China Merchants Group’s move from digital talent management toward more intelligent capability development.

From Group-Level Coordination to Organizational Collaboration

China Merchants Group operates across transportation and logistics, financial services, real estate and industrial parks, and technology-driven industries. Its diversified business structure means talent development requires both group-level planning and the flexibility for individual business units to address their own operational needs.

With YXT’s enterprise-wide intelligent talent development capabilities, China Merchants Group will further connect training resources, program operations, learning evaluation, and data analytics. The Group headquarters will be able to strengthen overall resource planning and coordination, while second-tier subsidiaries can carry out targeted talent development initiatives within a unified framework.

Courses, instructors, and business experience can also be continuously captured and shared across the Group, allowing dispersed knowledge to become reusable organizational resources and helping talent development evolve from isolated programs toward broader group-wide collaboration.

From Knowledge to Capability: Bringing AI into the Talent Development Process

If digitalization addresses how talent development resources are managed in a unified way, AI goes a step further by helping employees understand, practice, and apply that knowledge.

As part of the partnership, the two companies will explore the use of AI in areas including knowledge access, content creation, scenario-based practice, and learning assessment. For example, AI-powered role-play can generate training scenarios based on business manuals and SOPs, simulate real-world conversations, and allow employees to practice repeatedly while receiving feedback. AI course creation and AI-based assessments can also support content generation, exercise design, and intelligent grading.

The two sides will also explore integrating AI with China Merchants Group’s HR agent, “Xiao i,” enabling employees to use natural language to access learning resources, plan learning paths, participate in AI role-play, and retrieve training data.

As a result, knowledge no longer simply tells employees “what to do.” AI can help them actually practice “how to do it.”

From Intelligent Talent Development to Organizational Productivity

Traditional talent development systems primarily record courses, training participation, and assessments. Once AI can understand and retrieve enterprise knowledge, talent development can move beyond recording learning activity toward helping employees solve real workplace problems.

This aligns with YXT’s Enterprise Intelligent Productivity strategy: using AI to reconnect the policies, experience, SOPs, and professional knowledge that enterprises have accumulated over time, and bringing them into employees’ learning, training, and day-to-day work.

For large enterprise groups, the value of intelligent talent development is not limited to improving training efficiency. It also lies in enabling knowledge to flow across organizational boundaries, allowing experience to be reused, helping capabilities scale across the workforce, and ultimately translating those capabilities into organizational productivity.

300,000+ Employees Create a New Large-Scale Use Case for Intelligent Productivity

The partnership will cover China Merchants Group headquarters, 25 second-tier subsidiaries, and more than 300,000 employees, providing a new large-scale use case for AI-powered talent development within a highly complex enterprise organization.

For YXT, the value of large enterprise customers like China Merchants Group goes beyond user scale. Complex organizations place higher demands on knowledge coordination, capability replication, and the large-scale deployment of AI across employee workflows.

Going forward, the two companies will continue to explore the deeper integration of AI and talent development, helping enterprise knowledge move from being “stored” to being “used,” and talent development move from “knowledge transfer” to “capability building.” By further connecting knowledge, talent, and business operations, the partnership aims to help large organizations build a stronger foundation for intelligent productivity in the AI era.
