One injection and 4 weeks later, 37.0% of patients had flushing completely disappear, compared to 2.2% for placebo. Patients with 90% or more reduction came in at 60.9% vs 8.7% for placebo, from the Phase 2 trial with 92 people on a 600mg single dose. The difference from placebo widened from 2.6 episodes per day at week 1 to 5.5 episodes per day by week 4. 84% of patients reported being much or quite improved, versus 27% for placebo.
12 healthy postmenopausal women received 3 injections at 4-week intervals, and average liver values up to Phase 2 were similar to placebo. No gastrointestinal or liver abnormality signals. Half-life is around 24 days, and it is being developed as a monthly injection. Headache was more frequent at 28.2% vs 13.0%, but mostly mild.
