Why STI ETFs Are Attracting Record Retail Money

Retail flows moving from trading to accumulation Retail investors have net bought close to S$20 billion of Singapore equities since 2020, while combined STI ETF retail AUM has grown fivefold from S$884 million to S$4.2 billion. This AUM also rose 74% over the past 12 months, highlighting how systematic investing has gained ground alongside traditional stock selection during the recent $Straits Times Index(STI.SI)$ rally. The shift suggests regular passive investing is becoming part of the core retail toolkit, with investors increasingly using ETFs to build market exposure through accumulation rather than one-off trading decisions. STI Chalks Up Strongest Monthly Gains since Nov 2020 with 8.8% Rally

Global equities delivered mixed returns in July, with strong gains in Hong Kong, Singapore and selected Southeast Asian markets offset by weakness in Japan, South Korea and China.  July's market leadership differed markedly from 1H26. Semiconductor-related stocks that had generated some of the strongest gains in the first half of the year experienced profit-taking, while banks, REITs, property and transport-related stocks emerged among the month's leading performers. Unlike several North Asian markets, Singapore benefited from its heavier weighting in financial, industrial and transport-related stocks, helping local benchmarks outperform despite profit-taking in semiconductor-related names.  The $Straits Times Index(STI.SI)$ 's 8.8% ad

NVIDIA Earnings Review: massive growth remains intact, but the market is focused on durability

Consensus is asking NVIDIA to clear an unusually high bar again. For the current quarter, Wall Street expects revenue of $91.80 billion, up 99.31% year over year, EBIT of $60.64 billion, up 109.77% year over year, and EPS of $2.087, up 107.01% year over year. Those expectations come after the prior quarter already delivered revenue of $81.62 billion, up 85.23% year over year, EBIT of $53.78 billion, up 93.37% year over year, and EPS of $1.87, up 94.79% year over year. The key variable for the stock is not whether NVIDIA is still growing fast in absolute terms, but whether it can sustain near-doubling growth while holding margins at levels that imply exceptional pricing power and operating leverage. That durability question is likely to matter more than a simple top-line beat. The bull case

The stock is recovering from a deep slump, still trading 37.4% below its 52-week high of $259.92. Hello everyone. When last night's US session closed, $S&P 500(.SPX)$ and $Dow Jones(.DJI)$ were both at records, $Dow Jones(.DJI)$ above 54,000 for the first time. Not long after the bell, $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ was down 8.68 per cent. $Intel(INTC)$ $Intel(INTC) Surged +10.84%: Chip Giant Reclaims $100, Bulls Target $112 Resistance 🚀 Latest Close Data: INTC rocketed to $100.86, marking a massive +10.84% surge. Apple Asked CXMT for Lower Prices—and Got Turned Down. Can the Memory Supercycle Still Run?

Apple wanted to add a new DRAM supplier to lower costs. Instead, the potential supplier reportedly refused to offer a cheaper price. On August 5, South Korea’s Digital Daily reported that Apple had recently held procurement talks with Chinese memory-chip maker CXMT over LPDDR5X mobile DRAM. Apple reportedly asked for a further price reduction, but CXMT refused. Its quotes were said to be close to those of Samsung and SK Hynix—and, for some products, even higher. (Digital Daily) Neither Apple nor CXMT has publicly confirmed the talks, and no specific pricing details have been disclosed. Still, the report is not an isolated signal. Reuters reported in July that CXMT had started raising prices for major customers including Huawei, with some DDR5 server-memory products quoted above comparable
Apple Asked CXMT for Lower Prices—and Got Turned Down. Can the Memory Supercycle Still Run?
TOPJerry Lam: I prefer A, but operationally choose D. CXMT's rejection of Apple's price reduction at least shows that the current DRAM supply side still has strong bargaining power, which is logically favorable to Micron's price and profit margin. However, a single negotiation can't prove that the whole super cycle will definitely continue. The follow-up still depends on the contract price, inventory, expansion pace and AI server demand. My strategy is to keep paying attention to Micron, but not chasing storage stocks that have surged. Intervene in batches after DRAM price or demand is confirmed again; SanDisk and Western Data can be used as plate diffusion observation targets, but the certainty is temporarily lower than that of DRAM and HBM main lines.

My vote: 🟢 Very Green (+10% or more). I think the market has become too pessimistic. After five consecutive weeks of selling, much of the bad news—including the lockup expiration—has likely already been priced in. The key isn't just the headline numbers, but management's guidance. If SpaceX reports solid Starlink growth, provides encouraging updates on AI and Starship, and outlines a clear long-term roadmap, investor confidence could recover quickly. I also believe the recent selloff has lowered expectations to a level where even a modest beat could have a meaningful impact on the stock. If management demonstrates that AI investments are beginning to generate stronger commercial returns, it could become the next catalyst for a re-rating. With expectations already low and short interest st

I'm voting A. I believe both $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ and Arista can deliver results strong enough to reinforce the AI investment cycle. Cloud providers are still spending aggressively on AI infrastructure, and I expect that demand to extend beyond GPUs into CPUs, networking and the broader data center ecosystem. What I'm watching most isn't just whether they beat estimates, but whether they raise guidance. If AMD shows accelerating AI accelerator adoption alongside continued EPYC strength, and Arista confirms robust demand for high-speed networking, it would signal that AI capital spending remains healthy across multiple layers of the infrastructure stack. I'm staying constructive on AI. Valuations are elevated, but companies that continue t

SpaceX: Do your own diligent

Big-company stakes (especially Alphabet/Google’s) are not a reliable “buy” signal for retail investors, mainly because of timing, strategy, scale, and risk profile differences. SpaceX can still be compelling on its own merits for long-horizon believers in its businesses. Why PLTR/GOOG involvement does not mean you should invest Alphabet/Google’s stake is old and strategic, not a current endorsement of the public valuation.** Google invested alongside Fidelity in 2015 (around a $10–12B company valuation) for satellite connectivity and related infrastructure. That position has ballooned into a reported $94B holding (roughly 4–6% stake post-IPO) after SpaceX’s June 2026 IPO (priced at $135/share for ~$1.75–1.78T market cap). Google cannot freely sell large portions due to lockups. It also has

Walmart (WMT) New Investment Opportunity Below $100

Walmart (WMT) New Investment Opportunity Below $100 Walmart (NYSE: WMT) ended its rally from the April 2025 low triggering a larger degree correction. We mentioned this idea earlier this year in our previous article. Today, we explain the Elliott Wave structure unfolding now. Our analysis leads to the next potential investment opportunity. Elliott Wave Analysis WMT’s last rally from the April 2025 Blue Box unfolded as a five-wave advance. This move ended at $135, marking wave (III). From that peak, the stock began a three-wave zigzag correction within wave (IV). Price already established the first two legs, “a” and “b”. Consequently, as long as WMT stays below the recent June peak of $116.80, further downside continuation should occur within wave C. Based on the a-b connector, WMT should r

I voted for A) Mega-cap tech & cloud because I believe the AI investment cycle is still in its early stages. AI spending is increasingly translating into real revenue, and I think the leading cloud platforms will continue to benefit as enterprise AI adoption grows. The demand for AI infrastructure also supports the broader semiconductor and networking ecosystem. If I could buy only one stock from this list, I'd choose $Amazon.com(AMZN)$ . AWS growth has reaccelerated, its advertising business is strong, and Amazon is well positioned to benefit from the long-term AI trend. I believe the company still has multiple growth drivers that can support earnings over the next few years. I expect some short-term pullbacks after the recent rally, but I

I voted for A) Microsoft because it didn't just talk about AI—it showed measurable returns. Azure growth, a record commercial backlog, and rising Copilot adoption give me confidence that AI spending is translating into real revenue instead of remaining a promise. For me, the biggest proof that an AI strategy is working is improving revenue, expanding free cash flow & better margins over time. Meta's cash flow decline doesn't make me bearish, but I do think investors will want clearer evidence that today's heavy AI investments can generate stronger financial returns in the coming quarters. I also remain bullish on the picks-and-shovels side of AI. Companies involved in GPUs, memory, networking & advanced packaging should continue to benefit because every AI deployment depends on th
