Jonathan Lo's Playbook: From Sectors to Macro, Putting the Whole Framework Together

Speaker: Jonathan Lo, Investment Representative at Tiger Brokers Singapore, on how sectors are classified, which macro factors move markets, and the order to combine all the tools. [About the Speaker] Jonathan Lo is an Investment Representative at Tiger Brokers (Singapore). With nearly 20 years of practical trading and investment experience, he interprets markets through multi-asset, macro-directed long-short strategies expressed through equities and options. [The Hook] The speaker asked the room a simple question: have you cut back on spending lately? Would you still pay $300 for a T-shirt? That is the economy in miniature: your spending is someone else's income, and when consumers pull back, some companies feel it first. [Sorting the Market: 11 GICS Sectors] The GICS framework groups all

TOPJerry Lam: ๐Ÿฏ From the current macroeconomic perspective, I am more optimistic about the power infrastructure sector than simply chasing popular AI technology stocks. The reason is that the construction of AI data centers is still underway, but insufficient power grid capacity, transformers, and transmission lines are becoming a major bottleneck in the expansion of computing power. Favorable factors: Growing demand for AI electricity, the aging US power grid, and energy infrastructure upgrades are expected to bring continued orders to companies such as ETN and PWR. Headwinds: High interest rates increase project financing costs, regulatory approvals may slow down construction progress, and slowing AI capital expenditures will also affect order expectations. In contrast, the consumer discretionary sector is more susceptible to changes in inflation, employment, and residents' purchasing power. My investment framework is: first judge macroeconomic trends, then select beneficiary industries, and finally combine corporate fundamentals and technical trends to find buying opportunities. However, a tailwind in the industry does not necessarily mean that stock prices will rise, and excessively high valuations may also erode future returns. The most important thing in investing is not to chase the sector with the largest gains, but to find opportunities where macroeconomic trends, corporate profitability, and reasonable valuations resonate! ๐Ÿฏ

Jonathan Lo's Playbook: Valuation Ratios and the Moat Behind the Business

Speaker: Jonathan Lo, Investment Representative at Tiger Brokers Singapore, on P/E, ROE, dividend yield, and why the quality of a business can matter more than the quality of its management. [About the Speaker] Jonathan Lo is an Investment Representative at Tiger Brokers (Singapore). With nearly 20 years of practical trading and investment experience, he interprets markets through multi-asset, macro-directed long-short strategies expressed through equities and options. [The Hook] Is management more important, or the enterprise itself? The speaker leaned on Buffett: a structurally disadvantaged company is hard to turn into a consistently profitable one, even for a good management team. [The Popular Valuation Ratios] P/E ratio comes in two kinds. Trailing 12-month P/E is backward-looking, "l

TOP่‹36: I would chooseCostco (COST)as one of the strongest examples of a durable economic moat. What makes Costco special is not simply its low prices, but its membership business model. Customers pay an annual fee for access, giving Costco a recurring revenue stream while encouraging repeat purchases. This creates a powerful combination of customer loyalty, economies of scale and cost advantages. The numbers support this argument. In FY2025, Costco generated $5.32 billion in membership fee revenue, up 10% year over year. Its renewal rate reached 92.3% in the US and Canada. That is not just customer satisfaction; it is evidence of a business model customers are willing to keep paying for. However, even an excellent business can become a poor investment if purchased at an excessive valuation. My takeaway:A strong moat protects future earnings, but the purchase price determines our potential returns. Quality matters, but valuation still matters. @TigerClub [้พ‡็‰™]

Speaker: Jonathan Lo, Investment Representative at Tiger Brokers Singapore, on profitability ratios, why cash flow tells a different story from profit, and how EV/EBITDA levels the playing field. [About the Speaker] Jonathan Lo is an Investment Representative at Tiger Brokers (Singapore). With nearly 20 years of practical trading and investment experience, he interprets markets through multi-asset, macro-directed long-short strategies expressed through equities and options. [The Hook] Near the end of the session, the speaker asked: which ratio tells you whether a business generates enough income to sustain its operations? The answer wasn't profit margin. It was cash flow. Here's why. [The Income Statement: Profitability] Revenue minus the cost of goods sold gives gross profit. Then: Operat

TOPBlinkfans: With Treasury yields, oil prices and interest rate expectations keeping markets uncertain this week, investors should carefully consider their investment strategies. Market conditions can change quickly, so it is important to balance risk and opportunity rather than focus on short-term gains. Personally, I believe investors should focus on diversification and choose investments that match their financial goals and risk tolerance. For example, bank stocks may benefit from higher interest rates because they can earn more from lending activities. However, higher borrowing costs may also affect businesses and consumers. Meanwhile, technology and growth stocks may face pressure when Treasury yields rise because investors become more cautious about future earnings. Just like investing, choosing Tiger Merch also depends on individual preferences and needs. Technical Edge: Hang Seng Rally Fades Into Monthly Pressure as Gold Nears a Major Turn

English Version: Hello everyone. Today we will review the latest technical developments in the Nasdaq 100, WTI crude oil, gold and the Hang Seng Index. Market performance remains divergent this week. The Nasdaq and Hang Seng are still correcting, WTI remains under pressure after a downside breakdown, while gold has rebounded from lower levels. Policy changes following the US midterm elections, the interest rate environment and energy supply risks remain key market drivers. We will combine fundamentals with technical structures to identify key support, resistance and the conditions required to confirm the next move.   Hang Seng Index: Monthly Correction Continues, Watch Support Near 23,000 $ๆ†็”ŸๆŒ‡ๆ•ธ(HSI)$

Democrats' First Policy Push: Healthcare, Tariffs, and a Congressional Stock Trading Ban

The U.S. midterm elections are over, but the real policy battle is only beginning. On November 4, following the Democrats' victory in both chambers of Congress, House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries outlined an ambitious agenda for the next Congress. The priorities are clear: restore Affordable Care Act (ACA) subsidies, reverse Medicaid spending cuts, challenge Trump's tariffs, and ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks. And Wall Street is already reacting. On November 4, the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 3%, the S&P 500 gained 1.6%, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.4%. Healthcare stocks were among the most interesting movers. Centene jumped approximately 12.6%, while Molina Healthcare climbed around 8.9%, as investors began pricing in potential changes to federa
Democrats' First Policy Push: Healthcare, Tariffs, and a Congressional Stock Trading Ban
TOPShyon: I think healthcare reform could create the most interesting opportunity, particularly for $Centene(CNC)$ & $Molina Healthcare(MOH)$ . However, I would be cautious about chasing the rally because political promises do not automatically translate into legislation or higher earnings. The real impact depends on Medicaid funding, ACA subsidies & reimbursement policies. Tariff changes also deserve attention, especially for AAPL & NKE, which rely on global supply chains. Lower tariffs could improve margins, but with Trump retaining veto power, I would not price in these changes too early. Crypto regulation could also bring clarity, although stricter compliance may create challenges for COIN & HOOD. Personally, I prefer to wait for actual policy details rather than trade on election headlines. My focus remains on companies with strong fundamentals, healthy cash flow and reasonable valuations, while keeping some cash ready for better opportunities. @Tiger_comments @TigerStars @TigerClub

$MU Breaks Short-Term Support. These Are the Next Key Buy Zones

$Micron Technology(MU)$ has been rejected from the Institutional Sell Zone and has now broken short-term support near $900. If the breakdown holds, I'm watching two major long-term demand areas for a potential bullish reaction: ๐ŸŽฏ Key Levels: Institutional Buy Zone: $660โ€“$520 Smart Money Zone: $520โ€“$470 One important confirmation to watch is the November monthly candle. If MU closes November in the red, it would confirm continued weakness and could set up a more favorable entry as price approaches these longer-term zones. For now, I'm watching how the pullback develops rather than trying to catch the first dip.

$PLTR: Is the Long-Term Bearish Thesis Starting to Fall Apart?

I may have been wrong about the long-term rejection in $Palantir(PLTR)$ . Technically, the weekly structure remains bearish. Price has not yet made a clear break above the $208 swing high, so the possibility of a deeper correction over the next 6โ€“12 months remains. A move into the long-term Smart Money Zone is still on the table, although the odds appear much lower now. Here's what has changed: Daily Smart Money Zone: Bullish Monthly BX: Green Weekly structure: Still bearish until $208 is reclaimed The key downside level to watch is $160. A break below that level would make the bearish scenario much more interesting again. For now, I'm watching how the structure develops. Let's see what happens.

$NVDA Breaks Short-Term Swing Low

$NVIDIA(NVDA)$ has broken below its short-term swing low, putting its internal market structure under pressure. Unless the stock reclaims the $208โ€“$210 area by next week, the short-term structure remains broken. That raises the probability of further downside toward the Institutional Buy Zone, also known as the weekly Smart Money Zone. This is the risk I highlighted back in July. โŒ Although Nvidia broke out last month, it never recorded a weekly close above the previous swing high. As a result, the active weekly trading range remains: Weekly range low: $163.90 Weekly range high: $235 Key recovery zone: $208โ€“$210 The next move is important. ๐ŸŸฃ $SiTime Corp(SITM)$ is currently trading in a strong discount range on the weekly chart. $SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$ staged a sharp reversal, climbing from $748 to $768 in a single day. The next upside target is $800+. You Don't Need to Quit Your 9โ€“5 to Become a Profitable Trader

The biggest lie in trading is that you can't make money because you work a full-time job. You don't need to watch charts all day. You need about 30 minutes to prepare your $SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$ watchlist and identify potential setups. Here's a simple routine: 1. Find 4โ€“6 stocks to watch Focus on stocks with: The highest trading volume The biggest catalysts The strongest percentage gains 2. $NDX: One More Leg Lower Could Set Up a Bullish $SPX Reversal

$NASDAQ 100(NDX)$ is showing the cleaner bearish Elliott Wave count, with its Wave 4/Wave 5 structure still intact. As long as price remains below today's high, I'm leaning toward one more move lower to complete Wave 5. Here's the scenario I'm watching: $NDX makes a lower low to finish its fifth wave, while $S&P 500(.SPX)$ holds a higher low. That would create a bullish SMT divergence between the two indices and could provide the catalyst for $SPX to rally toward the 7,725 trendline. The ABC Model also nailed all three major $E-mini Nasdaq 100 - main 2612(NQmain)$ moves over the past two days. Look at the reactions around the 90%โ€“100% Fibonacci extensions.

The Great Grab Awakening: From Beatdown Stock to Cash Monster

๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸThe market finally woke up and stopped treating $Grab Holdings(GRAB)$  like a forgotten parking ticket.  Let's be honest.  Before this week, looking at Grab's stock chart felt like watching a slow motion car crash.  Grab's stock was brutally battered, losing nearly 33% year todate.  Wall Street critics aggressively dismissed it as a growth -at-all-costs cash burner.   But while the Bears were busy writing obituaries, 57 million people across Southeast Asia were using the Grab App to move, eat and pay every single day.  The fundamental truth did not just catch up with Grab's stock price, it absolutely steamrolled it.
