Free Weekly Stock Market Commentary 10/2/26

$TVIX$ $UVIX$ $DECP$  By Lawrence G. McMillan The stock market continues to be range-bound. $SPX is still solidly between support at 7580-7620 and resistance at 7780-7820. Those are the two red horizontal lines on the graph in Figure 1. Market internals continue to be poor, causing some of them to reach oversold status. Let's start with the equity-only put-call ratios (Figures 2 and 3). They remain split in their signals. The standard ratio is still slowly climbing, thus keeping its sell signal in place. The weighted ratio rolled over and began to decline a little over a week ago, so it is on a buy signal. Breadth has continued to be poor. Most day

Continuing Theories About This Market (Preview)

$NVDA$ $AAPL$ $MSFT$  By Lawrence G. McMillan It is said that a bull market climbs a Wall of Worry. In the modern context, this statement remains true of course, but also encompasses $VIX. In the past weeks, we have published a few articles detailing just how many articles are circulating in the financial media about the forthcoming $VIX explosion. That hasn’t happened yet, by the way, and probably won’t until people get more complacent about the current price of $VIX (and the stock market, as well). Of course, the Wall of Worry extends to other sectors of the market. Here’s a relatively new one. The S&P 500 is too concentrated – not just in a

$DECU$ $QQQY$ $XDTE$  By Lawrence G. McMillan This market continues to be one with a huge split between the technical indicators. The market internals (breadth, put-call ratios, New Highs vs. New Lows) remain in terrible shape. However, the $SPX chart itself has regained a positive stance, with last Monday's gains breaking through the downtrend line that had existed. Moreover, the various indicators surrounding $VIX remain positive. $SPX broke above the downtrend line on its chart (the purple line in Figure 1) and attempted to reach the all-time highs at 7820. It didn't quite do so and has now fallen back a bit. So there is resistance at 7780-7820.

Option Strategies: Wait for the Huge Bounce!

There will be having a private Bilateral talk tomorrow at the Whitehouse. This event can cause volatility throughout the day depending on what happens. We saw $S&P 500(.SPX)$ run 280 points and $Invesco QQQ(QQQ)$ 48 points in 5 days. Best case scenario we see one more consolidation day before a bounce on Friday/Monday. Either way you need to manage your risk until we see the market reaction to the meeting. SPX if it fails at 7700 avoid calls. If $Invesco QQQ(QQQ)$ fails at 738 let it drop as well. $Micron Technology(MU)$ and

.SPX: When Everyone is Bearish, Bet the Other Way

Last week I said everyone was bearish into FOMC. Now the Nasdaq- $Invesco QQQ(QQQ)$ is back near all time highs. QQQ is setting up for a run to 800 this year. If you missed the move from 700 to 748.. Please don't miss the one to 800. $S&P 500(.SPX)$ also on the verge of a breakout to 8000 as well.. The next FOMC is 5 weeks away. CPI is in 3 weeks. There are risk events over the next month but the runway looks pretty clear for now. $Micron Technology(MU)$ to 1250, $SanDisk Corp.(SNDK)$ to 2300, $Advanced

I told you last week... BUY THE DIP. Look at where we are now. $S&P 500(.SPX)$ is 60 points from all time highs $Invesco QQQ(QQQ)$ is 7 pts from all time highs. If QQQ breaks 748 we're going to see a melt up to 800. $SPX to 8000 coming if it gets through 7800. The market consolidated for almost 4 months. It's priming for the next leg higher in Q4. $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ to 650, $ARM Holdings(ARM)$ to 350 in play. $Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$ lets see if it rips 800 by next week.

Free Weekly Stock Market Commentary 9/18/26

By Lawrence G. McMillan This past week saw further deterioration -- by the $SPX Index as well as the internal indicators. $SPX sold off, but then tried to snap back with a big rally on Thursday, but it is not all that convincing. But, in reality, the 100-point rally just seemed to be an oversold rally. It didn't even reach the declining 20-day Moving Average, much less challenge the downtrend (purple) line on the chart. The rally did accomplish one thing, though: it pushed $SPX back up into that support area. So, technically there is still support there, or slightly below. The market internals have been terrible. Specifically the "market internals" as far as our indicators go, are 1) equity-only put- call ratios, 2) breadth oscillators, and 3) New Highs vs. New Lows on the NYSE. All three

Option Strategies: .SPX, QQQ, MU, SNDK& DELL

Hello everyone! Today i want to share some trading strategies with you! $S&P 500(.SPX)$ ended up closing up 85 points on the day. $Invesco QQQ(QQQ)$ closed up 12 pts. IF we see another run tomorrow $SPX can move towards 7700 and $Invesco QQQ(QQQ)$nto 722 in play next. As long as SPX holds 7600 and $Invesco QQQ(QQQ)$ can defend 712 we should see the market continue this uptrend. $Micron Technology(MU)$ is almost ready for a breakout to 1050, Let's see if it can reclaim 1000 tomorrow.

Lots of Volatility on FOMC Day as Expected

Lots of volatility on FOMC day as expected. We saw $S&P 500(.SPX)$ drop 120 points from the highs to lows and close at 7551. If SPX reclaims 7600 tomorrow we can see a bigger rally next week. $Invesco QQQ(QQQ)$ dropped from 711 to 700 and closed at 704.72. As long as QQQ Holds 700 and SPX holds 7500 uptrend still intact. The real move usually comes tomorrow for FOMC week so let's see if a bigger trend arises. I'd keep an eye on $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ above 520, $Dell Technologies Inc.(DELL)$ above 570

$UVXY$ $VXX$ $TVIX$  By Lawrence G. McMillan As we’ve been commenting for a couple of months now, “everyone” is expecting a rise in $VIX.  In classic stock market contrarian fashion, $VIX has steadfastly remained at low levels – countering the majority opinion and frustrating volatility bulls.  That would include us, to some extent, although it is not surprising to me to see the market act in a way that causes the majority to be wrong.  That was our point in the article we wrote in last week’s newsletter. So what do we do now?  There is still potential for a $VIX increase and a market breakdown, although some cynics point out tha

TRADE PLAN for Tuesday 📈

SPX tried to move red to green today but dropped almost 30 pts into the close. IF SPX can form a base above 7600 we can see a push to 7700+ after FOMC assuming there's a positive reaction. SPX under 7600 is more bearish this week. Avoid calls under this level. $Invesco QQQ(QQQ)$ needs back near 715 to test 722+ by next week. Even with the negative AI news, the market held up much better than most expected. If there's a positive reaction to FOMC on Wednesday, We should see a rotation back into Chip/AI stocks again. $Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$ closed up 17 today, META through 668 can push to 700+ by next week. Calls can work above 668 for tomorrow.

$TVIX$ $UVIX$ $DECP$  By Lawrence G. McMillan Stocks continue to slip after having made new all-time highs on August 14th. The 7600 support level for $SPX has now come under attack, and it was briefly violated yesterday. Today, however, the CPI number although "in line" was interpreted as a huge relief, and the market is rallying strongly. So support extends down to 7580 or so. The general support area is now 7580 7620. Overhead, there is a downtrend line on the $SPX chart (see Figure 1) that extends from the August 14th high through the last rally's high near 7750. For the bulls to reclaim control, $SPX needs to break out over 7770 or so. There is
