Apple's Next-Generation MacBook Pro Unveiled as iPhone 16 Prices Plummet, Disappointing Fans

Deep News09-30

September 30th - According to foreign media reports, since Apple began launching its self-developed ARM-based M-series chips in 2020, the company has typically updated its Mac product line in the second half of each year. However, after consecutively launching M-series chip-equipped MacBook Pro models in October for two years, Apple may break this pattern this year. Previous reports suggest that the new-generation MacBook Pro featuring M5-series chips will be delayed until next year.

Notably, due to iPhone 17 leaks, iPhone 16 prices have continued to decline. According to authoritative tech media reports, the iPhone 16 has reached a record low price since its launch, with transaction prices dropping to as low as 239 yuan in recent promotional activities, representing a significant discount from the original retail price.

Reviewing Apple's historical release pattern: In November 2020, when Apple launched the M1 chip, they simultaneously released the M1-equipped MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac mini. The following October, they introduced MacBook Pro models with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. October 2023 and 2024 saw the launch of MacBook Pro models featuring M3-series and M4-series chips respectively. Although Apple didn't update Mac products in the second half of 2022, they released MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, along with new Mac mini models featuring M2 and M2 Pro chips, in January 2023.

The iPhone 16 pricing situation reflects market dynamics as consumers anticipate next-generation releases, with the device's original retail price of 5,288 yuan now seeing significant reductions in various promotional channels.
