Trump Pushes US Federal Reserve for Rate Cuts, Criticizes Powell

Reuters05-18

(Reuters) - President Donald Trump on Saturday said in a social media post the U.S. Federal Reserve should cut rates "sooner, rather than later."

Trump also criticized the head of the central bank, Jerome Powell.

"THE CONSENSUS OF ALMOST EVERYBODY IS THAT, 'THE FED SHOULD CUT RATES SOONER, RATHER THAN LATER,'" Trump said in the post.

"Too Late Powell, a man legendary for being Too Late, will probably blow it again - But who knows???" Trump added.

While Trump is President, he might as well assume these positions too. Chair of the Federal Reserve, Secretary of the Treasury, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, Director of the CIA, National Security Advisor, Secretary of Homeland Security, U.S. Trade Representative,  Chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)

Trumponomics. The US& is already taking such a hit and is at pretty low state now. What will happen if the interest rates are reduced further?  I would imagine imported goods will be more expensive for Americans, this fueling inflation more?  And it is already commonly known manufacturing cannot come back to America so easily as masive infrastructure change and transformation that this requires cannot be implemented so quickly.  What happens if the dollar plunges further, and the US still needs to import most of their consumptions? Hyper inflation returns, American economy dives, jobs are lost.  This is a scenario which Moody, S&P and Finche sees and have this downgraded the US Debt rating.  More pain ahead I feel.

TRUMP needs to understand that he does not understand the intricacies of economoc policy and leave Mr Powell to do his job. It's not like TRUMP would listen to Mr Powell (or any sensible person for that matter? if he tried to tell him how to be a good (or even half-decent) President!
