It would be significantly bigger than recent reserves sales by the U.S. and the country may be joined by allies as part of an effort coordinated by the International Energy Agency. Here’s what some top analysts have to say about the impact:Goldman Sachs Group Inc.A potential release of crude from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve would help the market to re-balance this year, but it won’t solve a structural deficit for oil, analysts including Damien Courvalin said in a note. A release would reduce the amount of necessary price-induced demand destruction, but it’s not a persistent source of supply for coming years.OandaThe release would help cap oil prices in the short-term, but it’s unlikely to make up for the losses of Russian oil exports, said Jeffrey Halley, a senior market analyst at Oanda Asia Pacific Pte. In the longer run, it means that the U.S. SPR will be substantially reduced when demand typically climbs over the U.S. summer driving season, a potential upside for oil prices.ClearView Energy Partners LLC“It is hard to overstate the scale of this intervention, if it bears out,” Managing Director Kevin Book said in a research note. It would be the largest drawdown volume announced in the 45-year history of the SPR, and would follow the second biggest, the 50 million barrel combined sale and exchange in November. As global consumption may outstrip supply by 800,000 barrels a day in the second quarter, the release of 1 million barrels a day from the SPR could bring supply and demand roughly into balance absent further disruptions. That, however, would do little to rebuild lean global inventories.RBC Capital MarketsGiven the Biden administration is taking a very muscular stance toward Moscow, the SPR release is being used as a tool to blunt the impact for U.S. consumers, RBC Capital Markets said. Losses of Russian crude are likely to be enduring as the country will likely remain the most sanctioned nation on earth for the foreseeable future. It will be important to see whether this announcement will be an effective shock-and-awe tactic given that Russian energy losses are likely to climb as the campaign intensifies and the humanitarian crisis in Europe grows more dire, it said in a note.S&P GlobalThe move is likely to be insignificant, with the key focus still being Russian exports, said Victor Shum, vice president of consulting at S&P Global. A wide range of outcomes are possible on Russian crude, with up to 7.5 million barrels a day of exports at stake. Any loss of Russian shipments could be replaced through higher output from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates and release of government-controlled reserves, at least for several months. Should Russian exports fall 3 million barrels a day from pre-invasion levels from April to December, that would be 825 million barrels, well above the 575 million barrels currently held in the already-shrinking U.S. SPR, he said.DBS BankPrevious release announcements have done little to assuage the market but the size of the latest potential move could have a more lasting impact on prices, said Suvro Sarkar, an energy analyst at DBS Bank Ltd. in Singapore. The actual impact on the market will depend on how the release happens -- whether it’s via direct sales or replacement. The U.S. currently holds about 570 million barrels in the reserves -- the lowest since 2002 -- and a 180 million barrel release without replacement would imply a more than 30% decrease. While the news could lower prices in the short term, it could lead to increased U.S. demand in the longer term to refill the reserves, he said.ING GroepThe release would be the largest ever if it all comes from the U.S., and that would help to ease some of the supply tightness, said Warren Patterson, Singapore-based head of commodities strategy at ING Groep NV. While it would take the volume of the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserves to the lowest levels since the 1980s, the U.S. will likely push for a coordinated release so that the move will have a more meaningful impact on the market, he said.Vanda InsightsA constant stream of incremental supply is what the market really needs to cool down prices, according to Vandana Hari, founder of Vanda Insights in Singapore. It’s also important that the U.S. is a producer that’s capable of taking action as the country has enough surplus SPR and has the infrastructure in place to get the 1 million barrels a day of oil to the refiners in fairly short order, she said.SPI Asset ManagementThe release is a possible game-changer, and it offsets the loss of Russian supply for U.S. refiners, said Stephen Innes, managing partner at SPI Asset Management. It still needs to be seen whether the move will be enough to stem the tide of rising prices, or change the perception that reserves releases are little more than band-aids, he said. This unexpected supply boost may temper bullish views for a little bit until more details emerge, Innes said.ANZ GroupOil prices reacted quickly to the news, but there’s unlikely to be a major short-term impact on physical markets as the volumes are still relatively small compared with the losses due to the war in Europe, said Daniel Hynes, senior commodities strategist at Australia & New Zealand Banking Group Ltd.. The release looks to be sizable compared with previous efforts, but there are issues around the timing, he said. Also, inventories could be squeezed in the medium term when demand picks up, leading to higher prices, Hynes said.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"USO":0.9,"BZmain":0.9,"CLmain":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":5321,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9094555160,"gmtCreate":1645192894070,"gmtModify":1676534007470,"author":{"id":"3579422406918791","authorId":"3579422406918791","name":"eugenepay","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8670ad80c8b0ae7fe2d194cf801f1af7","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3579422406918791","idStr":"3579422406918791"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Interesting! 👍 ","listText":"Interesting! 👍 ","text":"Interesting! 👍","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9094555160","repostId":"2212856614","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2212856614","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1645191780,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2212856614?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-18 21:43","market":"us","language":"en","title":"1 No-Brainer Growth Stock That Could Soar, According to Wall Street","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2212856614","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"This company wasn't spared in the recent stock market sell-off.","content":"
\n
In the past six months, share prices of Block (NYSE:SQ), the company formerly known as Square, have dropped sharply along with many other growth stocks. Investors have been exiting this sector of the market, especially the stocks that aren't consistently profitable. There are increased concerns that perceived marketwide issues, including potential interest rate hikes in the U.S., could weigh on these companies.Despite the bearish attitude toward the stock, Wall Street remains bullish on Block's future as a business. When averaging the price targets of various analysts following the stock, they think the stock price should be $242.53, according to Yahoo! Finance. That represents an upside of about 117% from the stock's current price. Are the analysts right to place such lofty expectations on Block? I think so, and here's why.SQ data by YCharts.Block's original business can still drive growthNovel and practical solutions to age-old problems are always welcome. Block was a pioneer in developing such solutions for businesses. Every company needs a way to process transactions. However, traditional point-of-sale (POS) systems are clunky and expensive. Block offered companies the ability to turn almost any mobile device into a POS system thanks to the slick hardware it provides and the accompanying software. The company successfully built an ecosystem of sellers thanks to this, and it provided other services to these sellers, including payroll and data analytics tools. While Block's seller services are now somewhat widespread within the company's target market, there are likely scores of businesses out there that still don't use the company's products.Block management once estimated that its seller business boasted a more than $100 billion market opportunity, with very low penetration. Block has the potential to make significant headway into this market in the coming years. Even capturing only a portion of it will help the tech company substantially grow its seller revenue.Image source: Getty Images.Block's Cash App is disrupting traditional bankingIn addition to its seller ecosystem, Block's peer-to-peer (P2P) payment app, Cash App, has massive opportunities. The company is looking to provide traditional banking and other financial services to individuals via this app. It now offers a debit card, the ability to buy and sell stocks and cryptocurrencies, direct deposits, and tax preparation services.Cash App recently extended some of these services to young adults between the ages of 13 and 17 (with parental guidance) for a straightforward reason: Block argues that teens have often been overlooked by the financial services industry. Block's mission with its Cash App is to precisely target those historically underbanked communities, and the company will continue to increase the range of services it offers. In January, Block completed the acquisition of buy now, pay later (BNPL) company Afterpay in an all-stock transaction valued at $29 billion. The BNPL trend, which has been gaining steam, allows consumers to purchase items and pay for them on an installment basis, often with no interest. Block's acquisition of Afterpay will serve both its seller and Cash App ecosystems. As the company said in a press release, \"Together, Square and Afterpay intend to enable sellers of all sizes to offer 'buy now, pay later' (BNPL) at checkout, give Afterpay consumers the ability to manage their installment payments directly in Cash App, and give Cash App customers the ability to discover sellers and BNPL offers directly within the app.\"Block's most recent ventures, including targeting teens with its banking services and adding BNPL options to its business, will help attract new users onto Cash App, thereby helping the company grow its ecosystem. And that's great news for its long-term master plan.Be aware of these risksWhile Block's Cash App and seller ecosystems are booming and still have considerable room to grow, the company changed its name in part to reflect its increased focus on cryptocurrencies and the potential of the blockchain. CEO Jack Dorsey is very much a crypto enthusiast, to say the least, even going as far as asserting that Bitcoin will eventually replace the U.S. dollar. Block has invested heavily in Bitcoin, and it generates a significant amount of revenue from Bitcoin trading on its Cash App. The company recorded $1.81 billion in Bitcoin revenue in the third quarter, representing an 11% year-over-year increase. But Bitcoin gross profit in Q3 only came in at $42 million. The company's total Q3 revenue was $3.84 billion, growing by 27% year over year, while its gross profit of $1.13 billion soared by 42% compared to the year-ago period. The company broke even during the quarter. The market might increasingly perceive Block as a crypto play, and that could bring some added volatility as the crypto market is not the most stable in the world. Furthermore, Block still isn't consistently profitable, and in today's environment, that could disrupt the company's near-term progress.Investor takeawayEven with all these caveats, I see Block as an excellent long-term stock to buy, thanks to the potential that both its seller and Cash App ecosystems bring and the name recognition it has already garnered in its industry. Last year we saw Emergency Use Authorizations for multiple COVID vaccines and treatments across the healthcare space. Pharmaceutical companies are set to make billions of dollars in 2022. Here are three stocks that should thrive.

Pfizer(NYSE:PFE), the $310 billion mega cap, is expected to bring in not $1 billion or $10 billion but over $50 billion in sales for its COVID vaccine and antiviral pill. Scrappy Novavax(NASDAQ:NVAX)is finally introducing its COVID vaccine around the world. How many billions will it receive? And we have a dark horse candidate in Vir Biotechnology(NASDAQ:VIR). It has a drug that could easily be a $1 billion blockbuster for the tiny biotech.

A safe harbor in stormy weather

George Budwell(Pfizer):Pfizer is the undisputed champion of COVID-19 pharmaceutical products. In 2022 alone, Wall Street expects the pharma giant to rake in $55 billion in sales between its novel coronavirus vaccine, Comirnaty, and its oral antiviral pill, Paxlovid.

What's more, analysts are starting to warm up to the idea that Paxlovid might be a sustainable revenue generator for the company over the course of the current decade. When the drug was first allowed on the market by the Food and Drug Administration under the Emergency Use Authorization pathway last month, Wall Street thought Paxlovid would likely peak from a commercial standpoint within a year or so, and then experience a dramatic drop in sales as the pandemic faded from view.

But less than three weeks out from the drug's initial approval, it is becoming painfully obvious that Paxlovid will probably be required as a fail-safe against the worst outcomes from COVID-19 for several more years. The highly infectious omicron variant, after all, will certainly not be the last major iteration of the virus.

What this all means is that Pfizer ought to be one of the few large-cap drugmakers with a sizable, long-term COVID-19 revenue source. Pfizer, in turn, should have ample free cash flows to feed its generous shareholder reward program, as well as its ambitious business development plans, for the foreseeable future.

So, if you're looking for a stock that can weather the dual headwinds of sky-high inflation and rising interest rates, Pfizer might be worth checking out.

Revenue forecasts for Novavax: $2 billion to $8 billion

Taylor Carmichael(Novavax):Novavax is on the verge of greatness this year. The company's stock price is down to $125 a share. That's where it started in 2021, so last year was pretty much a washout for the stock.

Back in February the share price zoomed over $300 when Novavax reported positive phase 3 data for its COVID vaccine. But then the small biotech ran into manufacturing issues. While its vaccine is said by many to be the best in class, scaling up the contract manufacturing for an estimated 2 billion doses of vaccine is easier said than done. And those realities have caused the stock to drop about 60% off its highs.

Nonetheless, Novavax has already hit the $1 billion revenue mark, so its vaccine was a blockbuster even before it was approved, because of all the preorders. Now that authorizations are pouring in from around the globe, it's highly likely that Novavax will ship a massive number of vaccine doses in 2022. The company's already achieved a manufacturing capacity of 100 million doses a month, or 1.2 billion doses in a year. On the third-quarter earnings call, management predicted it would reach a manufacturing capacity of 150 million doses every month (or 1.8 billion doses a year) by the end of the fourth quarter. And the company expects to continue to scale and forecasts that it will distribute 2 billion doses in 2022.

Two billion doses of vaccine, at a price point of $16 (Operation Warp Speed paid $1.6 billion to pre-order 100 million doses) gives us a back-of-the-envelope calculation of $32 billion in revenue. Of course, Novavax will be distributing a lot of vaccines to the developing world at a reduced rate. While the company has been quiet about its prices, Denmark said back in August that it paid almost $21 a dose under the European Union (EU) agreement. The EU has ordered 200 million doses, so that's over $4 billion in sales, just in Europe.

Analysts are being extremely conservative, with a forecast ranging from $2 billion to $8 billion for Novavax in 2022. (The company's market cap sits at $9 billion.) While there may be hiccups along the way, Novavax is sure to make billions of dollars off its COVID-19 vaccine in 2022. And there could be significant upside to the stock if the company does indeed deliver 2 billion doses as it says it will.

The antibody market all to itself

Patrick Bafuma(Vir Biotechnology):The omicron variant is currently running rampant, and this time, we are short a few treatments. Previously favored monoclonal antibody treatments from Eli Lilly (bamlanivimab plus etesevimab) as well as the REGEN-COV cocktail from RocheandRegeneron are believed to have marked diminished activity against the current variant. This leaves a single infusiont hought to be active against omicron--GlaxoSmithKline and Vir Biotechnology's sotrovimab. This monoclonal antibody previously demonstrated a reduced risk of hospitalization and death by 79% in adults with mild to moderate COVID-19 and at high risk of progression to severe disease. And it's the only one left right now to fight the omicron variant.

Being the sole monoclonal antibody on the block will have its privileges. Through the first nine months of 2021, REGEN-COV brought in $3.5 billion in net product sales, while Eli Lilly's antibody combination brought in $1.17 billion. The U.S. government has already contracted for approximately $1 billion worth of sotrovimab. With hospitals overflowing with patients, anything that can help alleviate some of the stress on the system is likely going to be highly sought after.

And while Pfizer's Paxlovid will be hugely beneficial to ease the COVID-19 burden on the healthcare system, the oral medication has significant and complex drug-drug interaction potential. In fact, its interaction list reads like a who's who of commonly prescribed medications. This includes popular blood thinning agents such as Plavix and Xarelto, common analgesics like Tramadol and oxycodone, anxiolytics like Klonopin and Xanax, as well as cholesterol-fighting statins. With the National Institutes of Health issuing a statement voicing its concern over Paxlovid's possible drug interactions, this leaves plenty of room for sotrovimab to continue to be widely prescribed. With Vir getting 72.5% of sotrovimab sales per its agreement with GSK, the $4.4 billion biotech looks like a bargain right now.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 COVID Stocks That Will Make Billions in 2022
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 COVID Stocks That Will Make Billions in 2022\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-01-08 11:29 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
It's a new year and COVID-19 is still with us. It is also a top-trending stock on Yahoo Financeand social media today.\nSince U.S. EV sales are growing rapidly and Nio is seen by some as China’s version of Tesla(NASDAQ:TSLA), Nio’s move into the U.S. could greatly boost its financial results down the road. Such a development, in turn, is likely to meaningfully lift NIO stock.\nJob Ads Lift NIO Stock\nToday’s buzz was sparked by advertisements for U.S.-based positions that Nio recently posted on LinkedIn. Specifically, the firm has posted ads for 46 positions in America. Many of the jobs focus on managing technical operations, including software development and autonomous driving.\nAmong the U.S.-based positions that Niois currently seeking are Head of Architecture & Design, Head of Power Strategy, and Audio Systems Architect. Most of the positions are based in San Jose, California.\nA number of the advertisements went live a month ago, while others have been posted in recent days.\nBut why do investors care? Several months ago, investors determined that Nio was preparing to enter Norway based on job ads from LinkedIn.\nTherefore, it’s reasonable to believe that, with the EV manufacturer posting ads for jobs in the U.S., it may be preparing to start selling its automobiles in America.\nProgress in Norway and China\nAt the same time, Nio is making progress in its existing markets, which is likely to intrigue investors. Nio launched its ES8 sedan in Norway on Sept. 30. It’s planning to debut another electric sedan, the ET7, in the country in 2022. After Norway, Nio is expected to “gradually” enter additional markets in Europe.\nIn China, Nio’s sales have been growing rapidly. For example, in November, it announced that its deliveries had soared 105.6% year over year to 10,878 EVs. In the first 11 months of the year, its deliveries jumped 120.4% YOY to 80,940 EVs.\nThe Bottom Line\nToday’s news comes amid high interest by investors in both EV stocks and Chinese stocks. EV stocks have been an area of focus as sales rapidly ramp around the world and as many governments look to incentivize EV sales in order to reduce carbon emissions.\nMeanwhile, many investors have closely followed U.S.-listed Chinese stocks. It seems these two factors are also contributing to the interest in Nio shares today.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"NIO":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":5043,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9009127927,"gmtCreate":1640575631804,"gmtModify":1676533526822,"author":{"id":"3579422406918791","authorId":"3579422406918791","name":"eugenepay","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8670ad80c8b0ae7fe2d194cf801f1af7","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3579422406918791","idStr":"3579422406918791"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"3 good stocks 👍 ","listText":"3 good stocks 👍 ","text":"3 good stocks 👍","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9009127927","repostId":"2193178197","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2193178197","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1640485804,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2193178197?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-12-26 10:30","market":"us","language":"en","title":"3 Bargain Stocks That Cathie Wood Loves","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2193178197","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Is now the best time to buy these three Wood picks?","content":"
\n
After an astounding 2020, the chief investment officer of ARK Invest and stock picker extraordinaire Cathie Wood has had a rough 2021. The ARK Innovation ETF (NYSEMKT:ARKK) is down 38% off its all-time high and down 22% year to date.\nARK and Wood invest in lots of high-growth tech stocks that have been battered this year, which is what's causing the fund's poor performance. Coinbase Global (NASDAQ:COIN), Shopify (NYSE:SHOP), and UiPath (NYSE:PATH) are some of Cathie Wood's favorites, and all are between 20% and 50% off their all-time highs. However, the fact that millions of dollars of their stock are sitting in Wood's ETFs should be indicative of their long-term potential. These companies are trading at bargain prices today, so you might want to consider putting them on your watchlist.\nCoinbase: A way to invest in crypto\nCoinbase is ARK Invest's third-largest holding, clocking in at a market value of $1.25 billion. Shares of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange have sunk like a stone recently, falling 32% off its all-time highs. However, this isn't fully indicative of business performance.\nWith over $255 billion in assets across 100 different countries and 72 million users, Coinbase has become a cornerstone of the crypto economy as one of the leading, most trusted cryptocurrency exchanges. The company takes a cut of every purchase of crypto on the platform, so the rise in popularity of cryptocurrency has resulted in impressive revenue success. The company's revenue increased by over 330% year over year in Q3. With this, the company has also achieved impressive profitability: Coinbase brought almost one-third of its revenue to the bottom line.\nWhile its reliance on cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) has led to amazing growth recently, it's really a double-edged sword. The company makes money only on purchases of crypto, so in large-scale crypto sell-offs, the company is left stranded. This leaves Coinbase largely vulnerable to the winds of the crypto markets.\nWith the recent sell-off of crypto and Bitcoin, Coinbase has followed suit -- falling to a valuation of just 22 times earnings. Whether this is justified or not, Coinbase will likely mimic the crypto market, and its success largely depends on the widespread adoption of crypto. Therefore, if you think that cryptocurrencies will skyrocket over the next decade, Coinbase could be a smart investment.\nUiPath: An AI pureplay\nWhile not as large as Coinbase, ARK ETFs hold over $1 billion of UiPath stock -- making it the sixth-largest holding across all of Wood's funds. UiPath is disrupting the way companies operate and handle tedious, repetitive tasks by normalizing the use of artificial intelligence and bots. The company has the vision to deliver a fully automated enterprise so that workers can optimize their efficiency, and the way the company is doing this has attracted companies like AutoDesk (NASDAQ:ADSK) and NASA.\nWhile UiPath's product sounds like a pie-in-the-sky dream, the company is more than real. It has over 9,600 customers and $818 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR). With such dominance, UiPath has been named a market leader in the robotic process automation (RPA) market in Gartner's Magic Quadrant. As the leader, it has gained the trust and confidence of companies that might be wary of bringing automation and robots into the workplace.\nUiPath has lots of potential to grow. The company sees a $30 billion addressable opportunity by 2024, which would be immense growth from its current $818 million in ARR. UiPath might get some pushback along the way from those wary of integrating robots into the workplace, but its robots can provide efficiency improvements. The company has saved its customers millions of hours and dollars without putting workers' jobs on the line. UiPath is meant to work alongside human employees, and it has been successful in doing so.\nShares have fallen drastically since it came public earlier this year, and that has provided a valuation that an appealing valuation public at 60 times sales, but it now trades at 22 times sales. Cathie Wood has taken the opportunity to buy more shares this December, and you might want to consider doing the same.\nShopify: The rising e-commerce pick\nShopify is farther down at the 11th-largest ARK position, but still represents $950 million worth of shares -- and for good reason. The company has doubled its gross merchandise volume (GMV) over the past 16 months, reaching $400 billion in cumulative GMV on its merchants' platforms in Q3. This has been because of the company's relentless focus on its customers' growth and success. This is unrivaled by competitors like Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), which have often stifled SMBs by noticing their success and then offering and promoting a self-developed product that competes with them directly.\nThe company recently announced a new feature that would make international sales easier for merchants. Shopify Markets would allow companies to streamline global expansion -- something many Shopify users might never have thought possible. The company also has plans to roll out additional features over the next few years, with one of my personal favorites being Shopify Fulfillment. With this, users could access the fulfillment network that Shopify is building out and let the company pack and ship orders for them.\nThis focus on customer success is truly unique, which is why the company demands a very high premium. The company trades at roughly 40 times sales, which is the highest valuation out of these three stocks. However, I also believe that Shopify is the highest-quality stock on this list. While all three of these stocks are appealing, Shopify has proven itself the most, and the company's expansion efforts beyond SMB look very promising. While there is more risk that share prices could continue dropping, I think it is worth paying up for high-quality companies, and Shopify fits that bill. Given the number of shares that Cathie Wood owns, I think she is in agreement.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"COIN":0.9,"PATH":0.9,"SHOP":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3967,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"defaultTab":"followers","isTTM":true}
