I’ve closed out my $GGLL swing trade, locking in +3.29% in two days and rotating capital forward into the next asymmetric setup. This wasn’t a passive hold; it was a calculated trade on breakout structure, pre-earnings momentum, and fundamental conviction. The setup was structurally sound, but the follow-through lacked urgency. When price stalls under breakout resistance with rising risk elsewhere, I’d rather free up capital than wait for conviction that isn’t showing up on the tape. Momentum needs to move when the window is open.
$GOOGL was compressing just beneath $181.70 as RSI climbed, MACD turned sharply bullish, and moving averages coiled beneath price. But the real edge came from the macro layer. Google’s $2.4B Windsurf acquisition didn’t just reinforce Gemini’s AI dominance; it arrived as Nvidia resumed H20 chip exports to China, signalling renewed stability across the AI supply chain. That’s a green light for Google Cloud and Gemini deployment in the region, and institutional capital knows it.
From a trader’s lens, this was the moment to strike. The chart was primed, capital flows were rotating, and geopolitical tailwinds were aligning. I played the move, respected the structure, and now I’m redeploying capital into setups where the reward-to-risk is once again asymmetric.
