$SPY 20251017 665.0 CALL$

After wrapping up the last wheel cycle on October 1st, I’ve been selling CSPs on SPY for about two weeks. One lot was unexpectedly assigned this past Thursday, even though the contract expired slightly out of the money. Post-market weakness—SPY dipped over 1%—probably triggered that assignment. I suspect the system takes advantage of such moments to lock in profits after hours.

That said, I was fully prepared to take assignment and didn’t want to roll or close the position. Despite a bearish pre-market the following day, the market quickly recovered after the open, and I managed to sell a 0DTE covered call at the $665 strike. SPY closed just below that level, allowing the option to expire worthless and letting me pocket the full premium. Looking forward to a more bullish setup next week.
