CMBC Capital (01141) Scam : Cyber Crime and Authorities Alerted
How the Operation Works
The "Stock Master" Trap:
Fraudsters pose as financial experts ("Professor Chan" or "Mali Chan") alongside an assistant or co-host ("Ella") on messaging apps like WhatsApp or Telegram. They build trust by sharing market analysis and seemingly profitable stock recommendations.
The Pump and Dump:
Group members are instructed to buy shares of a specific, low-volume stock—in this case, CMBC Capital—at an exact price range (reported around $4.45 to $4.92).
The Crash & Finger-Pointing:
Once retail investors artificially inflate the stock price, the operators dump their millions of shares, causing the price to crash. When "students" demand answers for their sudden losses, the scammers shift blame to "malicious short sellers" or "spies" in the chat group to buy time before disappearing entirely.

$CMBC CAPITAL(01141)$
Can we all strategise to help each other to push the price for CMBC Capital up to at least HK$2.00 ?
WE NEED VOLUME TOMORROW!!!
Short answer: *If 01141 hits HK$0.96 on 31 Aug 2026, that's a ∼40% pop from today's HK$0.685*
Whether you should take profit depends on 3 things:
*1. WHAT HK$0.96 MEANS TECHNICALLY*
- *+40.1% in 1 day* - That would be a massive AGM-day spike. CMBC is volatile ∼10% weekly, so 40% = news-driven
- *It breaks above recent pivot resistance* - Classic pivots were at 1.66, 1.76... but the next real resistance cluster is around HK$1.00. HK$0.96 is right under that.
- *Still 35% below MA50 ∼1.50* - So long-term trend hasn't turned yet
*2. 3 WAYS TO PLAY IT*
Your Goal What to do at HK$0.96
**Lock in gains / Reduce risk** **Sell 50-70%**. Book profit. Small caps like 01141 often spike then fade same week. "Shareholder discount sale overhang" is still cited as a risk
**Ride the momentum** **Sell 30%, hold 70% with stop**. Move stop to HK$0.78. If AGM news is truly good: IB deals + buyback + profit beat, it could run to HK$1.20-1.50 next
**Long-term believer** **Hold**. Bull case says it's still "in a value trough". PB 0.48-0.52 is cheap if earnings HK$130-170M hold up
*3. CHECK THESE 2 THINGS BEFORE YOU HIT SELL*
1. *WHY did it spike to 0.96?*
- Good: FY profit beat + dividend + IB pipeline = might have legs
- Bad: Low volume pump or just AGM hype = likely to dump after
2. *Volume*: If HK$0.96 comes on 3x average volume ∼60M shares, that's real. If it's on thin volume, it's easier to reverse.
*My take as a framework, not advice*
For a stock classified "Value Trap" + "Highly Speculative" with no dividend and 61% below 200DMA, a 40% single-day gain is usually a good time to *take partial profit*.
Rule of thumb many traders use for volatile small caps:
*"Sell half at +30-40%, let the rest run with a trailing stop"*
That way you de-risk, but still benefit if the AGM actually kicks off that "value revaluation" story.
