The Uranium Supply Story Is Getting Interesting
Uranium has been one of those themes that can disappear from the headlines — until the supply-demand equation forces investors to pay attention.
$Nexgen Energy Ltd.(NXE)$ is interesting because it gives exposure to one of the major undeveloped uranium projects in Canada: Rook I in Saskatchewan’s Athabasca Basin.
The stock has also been volatile. Uranium and nuclear names rebounded earlier this week after a sharp sector sell-off, with NXE jumping 4.4% after JPMorgan initiated coverage.
Why I’m watching it 👀
☢️ Uranium supply: Western countries are increasingly focused on securing nuclear fuel supply chains.
🏗️ Rook I: NexGen is advancing development of a very large, high-grade uranium project.
📈 Sector momentum: Uranium names have recently shown they can move sharply when sentiment turns.
⚠️ But this isn’t a low-risk utility: NXE is a development-stage uranium company, so project execution, financing, permitting, construction and uranium prices all matter.
That’s what makes it interesting to me.
Rather than chasing another AI name, NXE is a way to play the physical energy-security side of the market.
The big question:
☢️ Is uranium setting up for another multi-year bull cycle, or has the nuclear trade already run too far?
