INTC Technical Signal Alert — 30 October 2026

$INTC

High-significance bearish gap risk

Catalyst: Q3 earnings and weaker-than-expected Q4 guidance, released 29 October US time.

Intel fell sharply after hours following its earnings release. Reuters reported a decline of approximately 23%; another market-data source showed $70.86, down 23.04% from the $92.07 regular-session close. Other snapshots showed higher after-hours prices, so the exact price depends on the timestamp.

Regular-session close, Oct 29

$92.07

Reported after-hours low snapshot

$70.86

What the technical evidence says

1. The earnings gap is the primary signal.

Confirmed: Q4 revenue guidance of $15–16 billion fell short of analyst expectations of approximately $17 billion. Intel also cited manufacturing constraints and ongoing PC-market weakness.

Volume: Regular-session volume on 29 October was approximately 80.7 million shares, versus a calculated average of about 96.7 million across the preceding 20 sessions. That is roughly 17% below average. The exceptional price reaction happened after the regular session, and I could not verify comparable after-hours volume.

Interpretation: This is a significant negative repricing event, but the available data does not establish institutional accumulation or selling exhaustion.

2. Support has been threatened.

The after-hours price range crosses below the previously identified $85 area and approaches the roughly $70 technical support zone. These are reference levels, not confirmed floors.

Bearish confirmation: Regular-session trading holds below $85, particularly if price breaks and remains below the $70 area on elevated volume.

Potential stabilisation: Price reclaims $85 and holds it on subsequent sessions, supported by improving price/volume behaviour.

Invalidation of the immediate bearish signal: A sustained recovery above the gap area would weaken the breakdown interpretation, although it would not erase the fundamental guidance concerns.

The gap matters, but the bigger issue is whether those manufacturing constraints are temporary or structural. If PC stays soft, does the margin reset last more than a couple quarters?

Below 85 on real volume and that 70 area gets tested fast, no bottom-fishing vibe yet

Further downside to keep an eye on -
      60 - 10% down from current price of 66
      50 - 25% down - re-evaluate business fundamentals for long term valuation
45 - still not a macro floor - this brings into question if manufacturing and supply chain issues can be resolved.
      30 - maybe 🤔
