๐Ÿ“Š Market Recap

  • Analyst Re-rating Cycle: Recent target adjustments, including BNP Paribas reducing its target from $715 to $540, reflect a reset in valuation expectations after the prior rally.

1. Technical Analysis ๐Ÿ“ˆ

Volume: Trading volume reached 15.67 million shares, with a volume ratio of 0.64, indicating participation was lighter than average during the rebound session.

MACD: DIF at -6.87 is slightly above DEA at -6.65, with histogram turning positive at 0.95. Although still in negative territory, the MACD shows early signs of bullish convergence from an oversold base.

RSI: 6-day RSI recovered to 46.81 from 34.62, and 12-day RSI improved to 44.98 from 38.67. Both remain below 50 but have moved out of the deeply oversold zone, supporting a short-term stabilization bias.

KDJ: K at 37.20 remains below D at 41.42, with J at 28.76. The indicator is still weak but has likely completed its sharpest downside phase.

2. Key Price Levels ๐ŸŽฏ

Primary Support: $320.65 โ€” the prior swing low; a close below this level would signal renewed downside pressure toward $310.

Strong Resistance: $377.13 โ€” the latest identified resistance; a sustained breakout above this level could trigger a medium-term recovery toward $395โ€“$420.

Immediate Pivot: $332.13 โ€” the current closing level acts as the intraday bull/bear dividing line, with $326.60 as the immediate lower validation point.

3. Valuation Perspective ๐Ÿ’ฐ

TTM P/E stands at 42.39, while Forward P/E has compressed to 16.75, well below its historical average of 33.30 and the -1 standard deviation of 25.61. P/S TTM is 17.79, and P/B is 15.90. The sharp gap between TTM and forward earnings-based valuation reflects expectations of robust forward earnings growth, but leaves limited room for multiple expansion if execution disappoints.

4. Analyst Targets ๐ŸŽฏ

A total of 47 institutions cover 'AVGO', with an average target price of $516.73, significantly above the current level. The target range spans from $215.88 to $663.00. Rating distribution shows 15 Strong Buy, 34 Buy, and 2 Hold, indicating a broadly constructive institutional view despite recent price weakness.

5. Weekly Outlook ๐Ÿ”ฎ

'AVGO' is expected to trade within the $326โ€“$345 range over the next week, with $320.65 as the key downside defense. A decisive break above $345 could open the path toward $355โ€“$360. Failure to hold $326 would likely trigger a retest of $318, followed by a possible move toward the $295 strong support zone.

Key events to monitor over the next 1-2 weeks:

  • AI accelerator order updates and hyperscaler capex guidance that may confirm or revise forward revenue momentum.
  • Broader semiconductor sentiment, especially after Intel's sharp decline and its spillover effect on AI and PC-related chip valuations.
  • Any additional analyst target revisions following the recent reset in valuation expectations.

Another semiconductor related stock, and it seems most of their market price were adjusted. Some were heavily punished and some drops were under control. Those probability provided for different time frame were really useful information to predict the holding period.

The semiconductor sector is recovering after last week sharp fall. The earnings from AMD gives assurance that the chips earning is not impacted by spending of the hyperscalers.
