$Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$ commands a formidable position in dedicated small-to-medium launch and space systems. Its vertically integrated model spans launch services—anchored by the workhorse Electron rocket—and a rapidly expanding space systems division supplying solar cells, reaction wheels, and satellite components to commercial and defense constellations. The crown jewel of its near-term roadmap is Neutron, a medium-lift reusable rocket designed to capture lucrative mega-constellation deployment and national security contracts. While capital expenditures for Neutron development and launch site scaling keep the company operating at a net loss, its strong backlog, growing manufacturing footprint, and increasing launch cadence provide significant revenue visibility and long-term growth optionality in the emerging space economy.

Neutron is where the margin story really changes. If first stage reuse works cleanly, RKLB stops being just a cadence story and starts looking like a real end-to-end platform

Backlog helps, but when does Neutron capex stop outrunning gross profit and free cash flow?
