Selling a stock too early is a mistake happens all the time to all the traders. Lack of clear understanding of the stock a person invests in would lead to impatience and ‘cash out’ too early instead of holding the stock and witnessing the company’s growth and let the profits run. All traders should set a target price of the stock bought. Do not regret when this target price is not the peak because it is extremely difficult to estimate the peak. It is better to sell early and make profit than miss the chance to sell due to greed and incur loss. Thanks @Tiger_comments @icycrystal @TigerGPT

$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$ so I am the emotional investor, I'll get to that in a bit, but let's just say I'm a fundamental investor first. If I'm selling when a stock breaks even, or waiting a little bit, then basically I got it wrong. I buy a stock because based on my analysis I believe it's a growth stock and will go up significantly in the medium to long term. Or I buy because it's an income stock with either small dividend growth but great and consistent large payouts like $Trinity Capital Inc.(TRIN)$. Or it's got small dividends but massive dividend growth over time, like $Realty Income(O)$. At the end of the day, with dividend stocks I want a minimum of 15% combine

No hard and fast rule. Best is to use some form of TA before making the decision. As usual, no one formula for all, depends on your personality too.

I am usually in the wait a little zone. However, there is really no telling especially for HK stocks. Many lived in fear as the past rallies have been very short lived. I sold BYD too early. Regretted it but seeing that the rally is still going strong, I have swing traded it. Bought and sold when the desired profit is reached. A little profit is better than being in the red and having to wait for the next rally. Better be safe with a little profit than being in the red. At most, swing trade a bit if the rally is going strong. @Fenger1188 @HelenJanet @Wayneqq @rL

$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$  I've been in both situations - selling when I broke even and holding out for more profit. It's a tough call, but for me, it's about understanding my risk tolerance and investment goals. I've learned to be more thoughtful about when to sell, and not just react to emotions.  What's your approach to selling investments? Do you have a strategy that works for you? 😊

I will wait a little longer to confirm that the break even is sustainable as most of the times, it will go through yo-yo motion. Just like yesterday when I sold my UT. For the past few days, it is going in an upward trend n I felt the time is right to sell it. Today I checked the price, it went down a bit. At least, I have buffer the differences and I m still in profit zone. [Chuckle] @MHh

Sell When Break Even or Wait a Little Longer: How Do You Choose?

Recently, Chinese stocks have experienced a strong rebound, and many investors have finally reached that long-awaited moment—breaking even! However, when the stock price returns to the cost line, the question arises: should you sell now or wait a little longer? The answer isn't always straightforward, as it depends on various factors such as your investment goals, risk tolerance, market conditions, and the type of asset you hold. Making the right choice requires a thorough assessment of your situation and understanding the potential trade-offs. Key Factors to Consider When Deciding to Sell or Hold 1. Investment Thesis & Belief in the Company One of the most important considerations is your conviction in the stock or asset you invested in. If you strongly believe in the company’s long-t
