The best proud moment is that I bought ifast at $0.78 !!! How I bought it is that day ifast made a profit turnaround earnings report and it made a big huge candle with huge vol . I decided to enter the next day . Holded it for few years and when Covid period it started to move up . Sold it @ $3 . Looking back I shd have hold it tight but we’ll all see clearly in hindsight . ❤️🌹

Hi. If you have the time to spare, it may be good to allocate about 5-10% of your investment portfolio for short term investment to leverage on the volatility of certain strong/high volume counters. Example: I use about $20k to buy Telsa shares when it plunge about 3-5%. It should start to rebound after dropping few % normally due to oversold situation most likely. Set a comfortable target to sell off if necessary. For me, I would sell off if say more than ~$500 profit. Nevertheless, long term investment would be still the majority part of your investment for dividend and growth of equity counters. Be cautious about short term investment anyway. Hence choose strong counters for contingency. Cheers. [Smile]

🌟🌟🌟Short term trading is exhilarating.  You enter with speed, precision and intent.  But there is also merit in long term trading too.  Take DBS $DBS Group Holdings(D05.SI)$ for example.  It recently reached its all time high at SGD 50.98.  I could have sold it early, booked a modest gain and moved on.   But something told me to hold on.  Not just for the numbers but for what DBS represents : resilience and a deep rooted belief in Singapore's future.   That decision allowed me to achieve a return that is over 100%.  This is not through timing but through conviction, patience and time in the market. Not because it was life-changing in terms of profits, but because everything — the timing, the setup, the execution — lined up in a way that reminded me why I love trading in the first place. It started on an ordinary weekday morning. The broader market was mixed, with no clear direction. I wasn’t even planning on making a big move that day, but I had been tracking this particular stock for weeks. It had been consolidating in a tight range, and the technicals were building up pressure like a coiled spring. Volume was drying up, price action was clean, and the chart was giving off that quiet-before-the-storm vibe. Then came the catalyst — a small but signif

I Don't Trade The Noise, I Invest In The Fundamentals

🌟🌟🌟This week's earnings season feels like a fireworks show : dazzling, volatile and over in a flash.  Tesla surges, Pinterest dives, Rocket Lab ricochets like a pinball.  For many traders, it is a playground for quick trades - nimble entries, sharp exits and the thrill of catching a perfect swing. I admire that agility.  I really do.  But I have never been that trader.  I don't chase the spark, I build the fire.  My style?  Buy and Hold.   I lean into conviction, not momentum.  I study business models like stories, not tickers.  I hold great stocks like $Alphabet(GOOGL)$  and $NVIDIA(NVDA)$

📉📈 Ever Made a Quick Trade You’re Proud Of? Tell Us the Story!

There are slow trades… and then there are trades that feel like they’re moving at the speed of light. The kind where your coffee is still warm when you hit “buy,” and by the time you finish it, you’re already locking in profits. Since I started trading, I’ve taken my fair share of quick positions, some small wins, some break-even exits, and some “wish I’d never clicked that button” lessons. But there’s one trade I’ll never forget. Not because it was the biggest dollar gain, but because it was one of those rare moments where timing, gut instinct, and execution lined up perfectly. It was New York Community Bancorp (NYCB), now known as Flagstar Financial (FLG). On that particular day in February 2024, the stock had been on my radar. It was trading in the mid-$5 range. I didn’t hesitate. First

For short-term trades, I usually stick to my EMA indicator, but instead of using a daily chart, I switch to the 15-minute chart for faster signals. I find that combining EMA crossovers with volume spikes gives me a clearer picture of momentum shifts. I also like using a Bollinger Bands (20) breakout as an additional signal—especially when the price breaks out with strong volume after a period of consolidation. That said, I only apply this approach to stocks with big news or announcements, as these tend to create the volatility and liquidity needed for a short-term setup to work. This combination of technical analysis and market catalysts has given me some of my best quick trades. If there’s no strong news driver, I prefer to trade stocks for mid to long terms instead. In the past, I m hungry for dividend (I m still hungry for dividend[LOL][Happy]), but last month, I told myself I need to have a mixture of growth stocks n dividends too. I did a calculation yesterday that I might have a shortfall of $4k to achieve my KPI of $36K this year. Purely from cash investment n excluding SRS. If including SRS, I have achieved it. Hence, I have to put on my thinking cap to achieve my KPI. I didn’t want to share the SG counters I bought last month and this month as everyone of us have our own plan. Just follow your plan n not blindly follow others as my average cost could be very low. Taking $SIA(C6L.SI)$ & $SGX(S68.SI)$ as an example. Former was acquired during Covid p

I definitely find it easier to chase momentum and trade popular names. I have done this with mixue and popmart. The IPOs have also been easy to trade as they tend to rise on day 1 and that is a good opportunity to swing trade. However, the risky thing is that sometimes the stock can become over-valued as many investors rush to buy and there are not always many diamond hands. So, I have learnt not to be greedy and would exit early. I prefer to have less profits than to be a bag holder. I normally exit when the price has reached my personal threshold or the absolute profit has reached my satisfaction. Typically, if the stock has run up 15% or returns have hit at least SGD $1000, I would prefer to exit before I get burnt. @Wayneqq
