AMD Data Center Revenue Surges 97% — What’s Next for Wall Street?

November 4 is shaping up to be a major day for U.S. markets. The midterm elections have delivered a dramatic political shift, Nasdaq futures have staged a sharp rebound, AMD has just reported nearly 100% growth in its data center business, and another wave of earnings from Coherent, Qualcomm, Arm and AppLovin is coming after the closing bell. $Qualcomm(QCOM)$ $Coherent(COHR)$ $AppLovin Corporation(APP)$ $ARM Holdings(ARM)$ For investors, three themes are worth watching: how markets reprice political risk, whether AI companies can deliver real earnings growth,

A Rebound Is Not Yet a Recovery I would lean towards option ②. The rebound looks more like short covering and bargain hunting than a confirmed return of bullish sentiment. Markets initially priced in tighter AI regulation, data-center restrictions and political uncertainty. However, a change in congressional control does not mean immediate policy changes. Legislative hurdles and presidential veto powers could delay implementation. More importantly, AI demand has not disappeared. AMD's strong results reinforce the underlying demand for computing infrastructure, although strong earnings cannot justify every valuation. The real test is whether institutional buying returns to AI leaders and Treasury yields stabilize. Until then, I would treat this rebound as a relief rally, not a confirmed tre

I think the initial selloff was driven more by political uncertainty than deteriorating fundamentals. Investors may have overreacted to potential changes in AI regulation, data-centre development and fiscal policies without considering how long these changes could take to implement. For me, AI fundamentals still matter more than short-term political noise. $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ strong results and continued semiconductor demand reinforce my long-term confidence, although I remain mindful of valuation risks, rising capex and financing costs. I would not rush to buy just because Nasdaq futures $NASDAQ(.IXIC)$ have recovered. I prefer to see whether the rebound holds and AI leaders regain momentum

Nasdaq Futures Stage a Sharp V-Shaped Rebound After the Midterms: What Is Wall Street Really Trading

The U.S. midterm elections have delivered a dramatic political shift, and Wall Street is already reacting. On November 4, as Democrats secured control of both chambers of Congress, U.S. stock futures initially came under heavy selling pressure. Nasdaq-100 futures fell roughly 2%, while S&P 500 futures dropped as much as 1.2%. Asian semiconductor stocks also declined as investors reassessed the potential impact of a new political landscape on AI infrastructure and technology regulation. But the selloff did not last at the same intensity. As trading continued, Nasdaq-100 futures recovered significantly, narrowing their losses to around 0.7%, while S&P 500 futures also regained part of their earlier decline. Within hours, the market shifted from aggressive selling to a sharp rebound.
