With 4 mins to go before Wednesday trading commences, US composite futures indexes showed that market is going to trend lower. This has a rub off effect on SMCI with the stock slated to open lower at -0.68% lower, compared to its Tuesday gain of +9.35%. For myself, I will still just keep a watch over SMCI for now, perhaps until the actual DOJ trial is dropped or blows over.. What about you ?
With 10 mins to go before Wednesday trading commences, US composite future indexes have turned red across the board. (see attached) The Dow's positive gains have given way to negative dip. Boo hoo hoo !
Replying to @CynthiaVogt:Exactement - you hit the nail on the head. Thanks for reading my post and sharing your views. //@CynthiaVogt:Bigger question is whether this is a cleanup rally you chase or a reset you wait out. Probe is closed, but governance risk and that March 2027 overhang still matter
Replying to @blinkix:Hi, thanks for reading my post and sharing your views. Your area of focus/concern is a universal one and one that is still in the making as AI adoption is still in its nascent state. No one person could safely vouch that it will 100% be a success. That comes a few years further down the road when investors look back at this crucial defining moment when focus shifts from AI infrastructure foundation piling to application in real world businesses. To bet (on AI) or not to bet - that's the question. Agree ?//@blinkix:Long term I care more about enterprise AI ROI than one earnings beat. Data Center margins look great, but organic demand after fu
On Tuesday when US market attempted a recovery of sort, the surprise is actually on SMCI. It has risen by +9.35%, buoyant still by its quarterly earnings potential, heading into Q3 2026. (see attached) Are you tempted by the gains ?
With about 9 hours to go, US composite futures indexes again are backed in the red except for The Dow. (see attached) Kinda makes one realizes that in times of tech stocks rout, the Dow is exactly less volatile than the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq. The futures composite indexes will continue to evolve throughout the day, shape by events.. Can't wait to see closer to trading days starts, how the futures indexes would have evolved.
Internal Case Closed. $SUPER MICRO COMPUTER INC(SMCI)$ is moving past a major governance overhang after completing an independent investigation into an alleged $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ chip diversion scheme. On Thu, 20 Aug 2026, SMCI announced that the probe, led by independent directors Scott Angel & Tally Liu and conducted with Munger, Tolles & Olson and forensic consultant AlixPartners, found no evidence that current senior management knew about the alleged diversion scheme or any actual diversion of restricted products. (see below) The company also said it found no evidence that SMCI directly sold export-controlled products to known restricted parties or that its previously issued financial stateme
On Tue, 25 Aug 2026 - US composite indexes recovered across the board with the Dow rising for the 3rd session. (see attached) Catalyst that helped US market higher : a. US Treasury yields dropped for a 2nd day, with 10-year yield sliding to around 4.625%, alleviating pressure from recent bond market rout. b. Brent crude oil fell -3.6% to hit a 1-week low, lowering near-term inflation anxieties, as geopolitical tensions with US sanctions on Iran persisted. c. Importantly, semiconductor stocks & NVDA recovered pulling the indexes higher, due to their weightage domainance.
US market recovered on Wednesday, pulling NVDA along as the AI chip maker rose by +2.19% by the time market closed for the day, on the eve of its quarterly earnings to be released on Wednesday after market closed. (see attached) Can it be concluded that US market is looking optimistically that NVDA will be 'great' news both on earnings and outlook guidance for current quarter ? Fingers crossed.
With 1.5 hours to go before Tuesday trading begins, the 3 composite futures indexes are all showing up "green". Same goes for NVDA too, slated to rise by +1.04%. Seems like a value trap given that US has effectively kickstarted their tariffs against their neighbour, Canada. Do we have to wait until 04 Sep to find out how Canada's counterstrike is going to hit US hard ? Will it affect US market as well... What do you think ? This makes me think if going in now (from now till 04 Sep) makes sense ?
The new catalyst (US-Cananda tariff war) dampened US market sentiments in addition to the Middle East tension, leading to 2 of 3 composite indexes falling between -0.28% and -0.76%. NVDA was not spared either at it continue to slip for the 7th consecutive session, falling by -2.91% ending the day at $208.48. Will it be a case of cathcing falling knives on the lead up to Wednesday evening Q2 2027 earnings release ? Such a dilemna...
Did you know that $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ has been on a losing streak for the past 6 sessions. Its stock price has been pushed down to around $214 per share, marking its longest consecutive dip in 4 years ? (see below) However, Finboldâs leveraged ChatGPT's AI forecasting model forecast NVDA rebounding after the six-session slide, with a weighted 30âday target near $236 and a base stock price range of $235â$245 by late September - provided quarterly earnings and guidance meet elevated expectations. Finbold has leveraged on ChatGPT's AI forecasting model to project the stockâs short-term trajectory for week beginning 24 Aug 2026. The model maintains a moderately bullish overall forecast, deriving a 30-day weighted average price target of approx. $236 per sh
Replying to @Investing Leon:Hi, tks for reading my post and sharing your views. In addition to what you've mentioned, I think the US-Canada trade tension is the key catalyst for now, as both economies are too integrated to be messed with. Any abrupt tariff change/s will reverberates thru the 2 economies.//@Investing Leon:The market had rallied too sharply before, and expectations are now being adjusted downward.
US. stocks closed mixed or dipped on Monday as investors reacted to collapsing USâCanada trade negotiations and rising geopolitical and economic uncertainties. Dow bucked the trend and rose marginally. Is this what is expected of this week's US market performance? What do you think?
With 2 hours to go before US market opens for Mon, 24 Aug 2026, things are not looking good down yonder. All 3 composite futures are all in the red (see attached). Will it fall further or turnaround when trading starts ? Only time will tell...
