市場有“1月效應”的說法，指的是每年的1月股市的升跌預示着全年走勢，若1月份升市，該年全年股市有較大機會上升，若1月是下跌的話，那全年下跌的機會也較高。我對股市還是充滿信心，以目前的走勢來看，投資者情緒已經逆轉，美股有望繼續向上突破🌟。

What a year for 2023, started badly and recovered well towards the end of the year. Unfortunately, I didn't achieve the profit target that I set for 2023. Moving forward, in the year of 2024, I think the market will be much better unless there are some unexpected black swam events. My focus for 2024 will be AI theme and also technology sector. EV sector might be another choice but not the top priority. This year, I will not touch meme stocks and will focus more on the magnificent 7, aiming for stable growth and consistent return to end my 2024. I have an average good profit in 2023 through REITS that pay me dividends in times of uncertainty where there are endless negative news that shaken the stock markets such as wars, inflation and interest hikes, i turn to REITS and ETFs. Though they are not performing well (in red), but most companies would still pay some dividends. I also bought some when the prices went low this Q2 of 2023. Since December it rallied, somehow i got a breakeven and some finally in green. Anything that’s not in a loss, is a profit? Agree? :)

Believe in goal setting for 2024 although not achieving profit set for 2023. Well, personal experience of a case is what thought to be great stocks can end up underperforming due to changes to micro and macro- environments. Goal settings help when monitoring the stock performance closely to achieve the expected outcomes e.g., the % of returns of stocks or $ to recover from stock losses.

as a newbie, expectation was to end the year in green while absorbing knowledge on the market & tiger app. glad to say the exponential learning growth is the highlight of my year, the green number on the account is a delightful bonus. may we all have a wonderful rest in the next few days & fight again in 2024. cheers 🍻🥂🧉🍶🍷🍸🍹🍾

$NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ was & still is my lover. sold it's position at ATH to accumulate again. at point of writing $Microsoft(MSFT)$ is my other lover. probably keeping this for a very long time

my goal remains - still a steep learning curve ahead hence my goal is still to absorb as much learning as possible. by Dec 2024, as long as ROR is above inflation % then I'll be happy. very simple minded ☺️😊🥳

I would say for 2023the performance was mediocre. excluding the funds in the Tiger vault. I have the Allianz growth and income fund. On hindsight I sold off too early was surprised by the Fed pivot rate cuts in 2024.
In the coming year we will be subscribing into more fixed income and bonds funds to profit for stable income . We will still invest in the equity market but with smaller allocation of funds.
