BTC $45000 or $50000 Tonight? Will You Sell the News?
Around 4 PM Eastern Time on 9th Jan., SEC announced on its official account on X platform that Bitcoin ETF applications had been approved, causing Bitcoin to experience a surge, breaking through $47,000.
However, it turned out to be false. Around 4:30 PM, SEC Chairman Gary Gensler clarified via a tweet that the SEC's account had been hacked, and they had not approved any spot Bitcoin products.
As a result, the cryptocurrency price also dropped. Currently, Bitcoin is around $45,000. $Marathon Digital Holdings Inc(MARA)$
Who hacked SEC’s X account?
Many internet users speculate that Elon might have hacked the SEC's X account.
Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas suggested that
the "approval" misinformation might come from within the SEC
or was a result of an error in inputting a preplanned tweet with the wrong date by SEC employees.
How will Bitcoin move tonight? $45000 or $50000?
The fake post yesterday might have foreshadowed the movement of BTC tonight.
Many people are also speculating that even if the approval happens, it might turn out to be negative.
There's too much anticipation, leading to a "sell the news" scenario.
